Monday's Novel Talk (73)

Hey Chroniclers! So today, I woke up at 11PM but for some reason fell asleep once again and woke up at 4. I feel like poo D= And this is why I didn't post earlier. But, I am here now and it's Monday and boo Monday's. But let's see what I've been reading!

I'm STILL reading Les Misérables by Victor Hugo! I finally finished Volume 3 and have 4 and 5 left. I'm currently on page 515 out of 908 which isn't that bad. I know that I'll finish this before the year ends. This is the worst and longest I've ever read for one book.

I finished re-reading Burned by Ellen Hopkins for the second time and finished the sequel Smoke as well that was recently released. I loved Burned but Smoke ripped out my heart and just shredded it. I loved it so much it became an instant favorite! I still feel the pain today.

I'm currently reading Loss by Jackie Morse Kessler, the third book in the Riders of the Apocalypse Series. It's so good and in my opinion, better than the first two and much more deeper. I'm on page 109 out of 251 and should be finishing this soon.

And that's all I've been reading? What have you guys been reading? Leave your comments down below!

Tuesday's Novel Spotlight (53)

Hey Chroniclers! I'm so excited because it's Tuesday and that means brand new books have been released into the world. Tuesday's Novel Spotlight is a weekly meme hosted by me where I bring you a book that has just been released but is a sequel or companion novel. Today I'm actually in New York City going to Barnes & Noble to get the book that was released today. That book is....

Smoke by Ellen Hopkins!

I am so freaking excited to read this book! I read the first book Burned last year and again very recently. I seriously can't wait to both read the book and hold it in my hands! I want to see what special texture the book has like all of her other novels. We'll get to see the story continue for Pattyn and everyone else around her and it's just too exciting for me to handle!

I love the cover! It reminds me of the font color of Burned and I love how they both tie in together. Now that I look at it it kind of looks like a forest on the bottom with the trees on fire and the black is the sky with the moon on the corner! Never noticed that until now.

What are your thoughts on the first book, cover and author? We all know she's one of my favorite author so it's just too awesome. Leave your comments down below and let me know what you guys think!

Monday's Novel Talk (72)

Hey Chroniclers! I haven't posted one of these since July but then again, I wasn't here during August to put one up so we'll go ahead and start with what I've read since last week.

I'm currently still reading Les Misérables by Victor Hugo since July! I'm currently on page 438 of 908 and it is killing me. I thought the book would be completely different than what it really is. It's like I'm reading a History Textbook and that is not my cup of tea. It's gotten to the point where I have to read along with an audiobook so that I don't stop reading and wander of doing something else. Hopefully I can finish this by the end of the year. -____-

I finished reading Glow by Amy Kathleen Ryan and I went into it with low expectations but I ended up really enjoying it. I'll be buying the sequel along with the matching first book in paperback so that I can continue the adventure.

I'm currently reading Burned by Ellen Hopkins in preparation for the sequel that will release tomorrow, Smoke. I'm currently on page 209 of 531 and of course I love it. It's such a fast read like all of her other books and I should be done by tonight.

But that's all I've been reading. What have you guys been reading? Leave your comments down below!

Cover Reveal: Smoke by Ellen Hopkins

You guys do not know how freaking excited I am for this damn book! Anything that involves Ellen Hopkins I will jump on it so hard, I might break it! And today, the cover for her 2013 YA novel was revealed!

I'm so excited I can barely even type! Smoke by Ellen Hopkins is a sequel to one of her earliest novels Burned.

The cover was revealed on EW.com with the official description. SPOILERS FOR THE FIRST BOOK!

Pattyn Von Stratten's father is dead, and Pattyn is on the run. After far too many years of abuse at the hands of her father, and after the tragic loss of her beloved Ethan and their unborn child, Pattyn is desperate for peace. Only her sister Jackie knows what happened that night, but she is stuck at home with their mother, who clings to normalcy by allowing the truth to be covered up by their domineering community leaders. Her father might be finally gone, but without Pattyn, Jackie is desperately isolated. Alone and in disguise, Pattyn starts a new life, but is it even possible to rebuild a life when everything you've known has burned to ash and lies seem far safer than the truth?

SPOILERS ENDED!

Now as we all know, it's not only about the cover or the story! The actual cover itself is what I also can't wait to see. Each cover of her novels are completely different with different feels and sets themselves apart from the other novels and I can't wait to see what this looks like in person.

Smoke is set to be released September 10th 2013!

In My Mailbox/Book Haul (13)

Hey guys! I'm back, even though it is kind of late. As you may or may not know, the East Coast got hit with a Hurricane called Hurricane Irene this weekend and it was bad. Not as bad as we expected but still bad nonetheless. I still had work though and it was horrible! Anyway, I've gotten 3 books in the past two weeks. The first book was from the week before last. And the next two are from last week.

Wolfsbane by Andrea Cremer

Because I was sent the new cover for the first book I bought the second right after so now it matches on my shelf. It's smaller than I thought it would be but I'm excited to read it.

Burned by Ellen Hopkins

We all know how I love Ellen Hopkins so I had to order this as soon as I had the chance. Can't wait to read this as I keep hearing good things about it from people who don't like to read.

Em Chamas by Suzanne Collins

This is Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins in Portuguese. I have the first one which is Os Jogos Da Fome which stands for The Games of Hunger and this one is In Ashes. This is mostly for my dad who read the first one and is now reading this one and loving it. The third one is supposed to come out this November so can't wait.

All of the books here I bought, the third bought in Portugal by a family friend. I can't wait to read the first two (and I already read the third in English) so I thought it was a good two weeks. I have 3 books on pre-order one which is released tomorrow so I'll get it possibly Thursday!

And that's all really. I will see you tomorrow and get to reading! =D
