Tuesday's Novel Spotlight (54)

Hey Chroniclers! It's been a while since I've done one of these but it's a special day. Today is Tuesday and that means that books have been released into the world for us to read! Tuesday's Novel Spotlight is a weekly feature host by me where I bring you a book that has just been released but is a sequel or companion novel. I present to thee today's book...

Champion by Marie Lu!

While I still haven't read Prodigy this is still the last book in the trilogy and it's crazy that it's coming to an end. I can't wait to read both of them and I know it'll just be amazing!

I really liked Legend but it's been a while since I read it so I might have to re-read it again before reading the other two. But how excited are you guys to read the end of this trilogy? Leave your comments down below and let's discuss about it!

What are your thoughts though on the cover, the author and the story of the trilogy?

Tuesday's Novel Spotlight (53)

Hey Chroniclers! I'm so excited because it's Tuesday and that means brand new books have been released into the world. Tuesday's Novel Spotlight is a weekly meme hosted by me where I bring you a book that has just been released but is a sequel or companion novel. Today I'm actually in New York City going to Barnes & Noble to get the book that was released today. That book is....

Smoke by Ellen Hopkins!

I am so freaking excited to read this book! I read the first book Burned last year and again very recently. I seriously can't wait to both read the book and hold it in my hands! I want to see what special texture the book has like all of her other novels. We'll get to see the story continue for Pattyn and everyone else around her and it's just too exciting for me to handle!

I love the cover! It reminds me of the font color of Burned and I love how they both tie in together. Now that I look at it it kind of looks like a forest on the bottom with the trees on fire and the black is the sky with the moon on the corner! Never noticed that until now.

What are your thoughts on the first book, cover and author? We all know she's one of my favorite author so it's just too awesome. Leave your comments down below and let me know what you guys think!

Tuesday's Novel Spotlight (52)

Hey Chroniclers! Welcome to another Tuesday which means books have been released into the world. Today I will be bringing you two posts! One will be this one which I'll share my enthusiasm for a sequel, the other will be about a debut novel. Tuesday's Novel Spotlight is a weekly (or so) meme hosted by me where I share my excitement for a sequel that is being released. I don't talk about it, just say how excited I am for it and ask you guys for your thoughts. Let us begin!

The Third Kingdom by Terry Goodkind!

I finished the Sword of Truth series earlier this year. At least the first arc because now there's a new arc and this is the second book of it. While I haven't read the first one, I'm still excited to buy this one and own it. I just know it's going to be amazing and I'm seriously missing the characters from the series way too much. I don't know when I'll buy it because I'll only be able to read it next year, but we'll see how it goes!

I kind of like the cover. I like the fact how the new arc has this theme of black with the red going on. Really do like it.

What are your thoughts on the series and author? Leave your comments down below and let me know what you guys think?

Tuesday's Novel Spotlight (51)

Hey Chroniclers! Today is going to be a good day because I'll be putting up two different posts! The first one, which is this one, is going to be Tuesday's Novel Spotlight, where I kind of share my enthusiasm for books that are sequels that have been released today. I won't be talking about them because I don't want to spoil anything, just sharing how excited I am! Basically, Tuesday's Novel Spotlight is a weekly meme hosted by me where I share the books that are sequels that have been released today. It differs from The Novel's Court which is about debut novels. Today, there are three books that have been released that I can't wait to get my hands on. Pity that I'm in Portugal.

The first book I'm excited for that is coming out today has got to be...
The Uprising by Lisa M. Stasse!

I love Dystopian books and the fact that this promised us some shiz going down in the future, I'm so excited to see how everything turns out. A reasons I love Dystopian novels is because, especially if they're in a trilogy or series, I can see how it goes from the normal of their world, to completely messed up an in utter chaos. It's just fantastic. They changed the font and cover colors of the second book from the first so I'll have to wait for this paperback version to come out, but I'm still excited!

The second book I'm really excited for is...
The Land of Stories: The Enchantress Returns by Chris Colfer!

First off, I'm in love with this cover. I think the purple is striking and the eyes add that creepiness to it. Love the images on the side and I'm glad it matches with the first book. I think it'll look amazing side by side. I don't really remember the first book except for some parts so I might have to re-read it to start this one, but I don't mind.

The third and last book I'm excited for is...
When The Stars Threw Down Their Spears by Kersten Hamilton!

It's been a while since I read the first book, but I do know that I loved it oh so much. I still haven't read the second book but I'm definitely excited to dive in and then follow it with the third one. I might have to re-read the first one as well just so that I get refreshed on it.

Will you be reading any of these books? Leave your comments down below with your thoughts!

Tuesday's Novel Spotlight (51)

Hey Chroniclers! It's Tuesday which means that books have been released into the world but the one that I'm most excited for today is a book that is the final in the trilogy! I'm talking about...

It is the third and final book in The Infernal Devices Trilogy and I'm currently on my way to NYC which is like 15 minutes away from here to go pick up my copy! I'm so excited for this book as you can tell by the countdown up above. I can't wait to see how it all ends!

Will you guys be reading it? Let me know down in the comments below!

Tuesday's Novel Spotlight (50)

Hey Chroniclers! I am here today with Tuesday's Novel Spotlight. As I've said before, I've split books into two different categories. Sequels for books I've already read or want to read will be posted under Tuesday's Novel Spotlight, while debut books will be posted on The Novel's Court and be judged into oblivion. This week, I will be talking about...

Prodigy by Marie Lu!

I won't give you the synopsis because I wouldn't want to spoil the first book for you. The truth is, I might have to re-read the first book. While I remember major parts, the rest of the book feels kind of hazy and if I read this one I won't really know much of what's going on. I do know that I really liked Legend so I'll have no problem re-reading it. I seriously can't wait to read this one though. I've heard such good things about it and everyone who has read it is loving it! Ugh the excitement!

Will you be reading Prodigy? Leave your comments down below along with what you thought of Legend.

Tuesday's Novel Spotlight (49)

Hello Chroniclers! It is Tuesday which means another batch of books have been released. From sequels to series enders but today what we shall focus on is a debut novel. I haven't heard much of it and only a few days ago did I actually hear about it but that novel is...

Level 2 by Lenore Appelhans!

In this gripping exploration of a futuristic afterlife, a teen discovers that death is just the beginning.

Since her untimely death the day before her eighteenth birthday, Felicia Ward has been trapped in Level 2, a stark white afterlife located between our world and the next. Along with her fellow drones, Felicia passes the endless hours reliving memories of her time on Earth and mourning what she's lost-family, friends, and Neil, the boy she loved.

Then a girl in a neighboring chamber is found dead, and nobody but Felicia recalls that she existed in the first place. When Julian-a dangerously charming guy Felicia knew in life-comes to offer Felicia a way out, Felicia learns the truth: If she joins the rebellion to overthrow the Morati, the angel guardians of Level 2, she can be with Neil again.

Suspended between Heaven and Earth, Felicia finds herself at the center of an age-old struggle between good and evil. As memories from her life come back to haunt her, and as the Morati hunt her down, Felicia will discover it's not just her own redemption at stake... but the salvation of all mankind.

Time to break it down.

The Story: The story sounds good if it didn't involve the love. We all know how I'm starting to feel about the whole love thing in YA. It's really taking over these characters lives who think love is something it's not. If I were dead and had a chance to go back, I'd want to go back to be alive not because I can be with the love "of my life". I mean I'd think about it but my first thought would be I can be alive again! If it didn't have the love and were something else it would sound really good!

The Cover: I like the simplicity of the cover. The white with the red, how nothing is bold yet it all stands out. Except the girl. I kind of wish it didn't show the girl as clearly as it does and that it was hiding her a bit more. Would've made the cover more mysterious. I also think she's sitting in an odd position.

The Verdict: Unfortunately I will not be getting this book. I might check some reviews out about it but other than that, it's guilty for me. Guilty of not catching my interest! That is law.

What are your thoughts on the author, cover and story? Leave your comments down below.

Tuesday's Novel Spotlight (48)

Hey Chroniclers! It is Tuesday which can only mean one thing. Books have been released into the world! And there's so many but only one will be chosen to be featured on the blog. Today will be a bit different than usual because the book is actually a sequel so I won't do my usual verdict, cover, story thing. Especially because I didn't read the first book yet so I don't want to be spoiled! That book though is....

Rise by Andrea Cremer.

This is the second and last book in her two-part sequel to her Nightshade Trilogy. I love it when authors write a bunch of books set in the same world and then match the covers along the way. And as much as I don't exactly like the covers for her books, I do enjoy how the spines look all together on a bookshelf. I do hope they continue the theme with black and one color with the next books if there are any. I'm thinking Orange, Pink, White, Brown, Gray, etc. etc. It'll just be cool all together.

I will buy this one for sure as I seem to enjoy Cremer's work. Or most of it.
You can check out what I mean in my Honesty Hour of the Nightshade Trilogy. And since then I have read Bloodrose and enjoyed it immensely.

But yea that's it. I don't know when I'll buy this one seeing as I'm trying to save my money until I get a job but I will buy it for sure someday.

Will you guys be getting Rise? Let me know in the comments below.

And remember;
Save a Panda: read a book.

Tuesday's Novel Spotlight (47)

Hello everyone! It is Tuesday and yet another book has been released into our world! On another note, I have gotten worse with being sick. Woke up and I couldn't even swallow anything because my throat was in so much pain. Why won't it just go away?! But back to our books, today a book has been released. One of the many books that are being released into our reading world and I am here to bring you the news! Which book is it you ask? Well it's none other than....

The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken!

I've been loving the cover for the longest and I really want to know what it looks like in person because I'm sure it has an awesome feel to it or something special. But what exactly is this book about?

When Ruby woke up on her tenth birthday, something about her had changed. Something alarming to make her parents lock her in the garage and call the police. Something that gets her sent to Thurmond, a brutal government "rehabilitation camp." She might have survived the mysterious disease that's killed most of America's children, but she and the others have emerged with something far worse: frightening abilities they cannot control.

Now sixteen, Ruby is one of the dangerous ones.

When the truth comes out, Ruby barely escapes Thurmond with her life. Now she's on the run, desperate to find the one safe haven left for kids like her-East River. She joins a group of kids who escaped their own camp. Liam, their brave leader, is falling hard for Ruby. But no matter how much she aches for him, Ruby can't risk getting close. Not after what happened to her parents.

When they arrive at East River, nothing is as it seems, least of all its mysterious leader. But there are other forces at work, people who will stop at nothing to use Ruby in their fight against the government. Ruby will be faced with a terrible choice, one that may mean giving up her only chance at a life worth living.

Now let's break it down.

The Story: The story sounds amazing. I'm a bit afraid of the romance part of it but other than that I'm very intrigued with the types of powers and the camps and everything about it. As I read the synopsis I kept picturing it as a movie trailer in my head which is always a good sign.

The Cover: I absolutely love the cover. I think it's amazing to not have a face on it and have it something that pertains to the book. I love books with designs and not people on the covers. Must be the non-existent artistic side of me. I hope the cover in person has a special feel to it like some covers do.

The Verdict: I'll definitely be checking out this book and totally want to buy it. I might have to check out some reviews to see how the romance plays out and if it's too much or just right but other than that, count me in!

Tuesday's Novel Spotlight (45)

Hello beautiful people! You all look very wonderful today, or at least your computers do. It's like you're glowing and it must be because of the books being released today! Which are some amazing finale books! And I just realized all three are the final books of the series!

Finale by Becca Fitzpatrick! I still haven't read Silence by Hush, Hush was the very first ARC that I have ever gotten so it'll be cool to finish a series that I've been since before the very beginning!

Beautiful Redemption by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl! I'm currently reading Beautiful Darkness so I have a while before I reach the end but I just want to own this book because the covers are amazing in person and I can't wait to see them all together in person.

The Crimson Crown by Cinda Williams Chima! Another series where I've been with it since the first book. I can't wait to see how it ends and I know it'll be crazy. Also, can't wait to see the covers together!

I seriously need to get these books ASAP because it's making me crazy not owning them! Let me know in the comments which of these books you're waiting for or have already bought!

Tuesday's Novel Spotlight (44)

I've missed you guys oh so much! And I've missed posting on here regularly but hopefully that will change and I'll start coming on here more. =D Today I'm here to introduce a book to the world that has been released today and it's pretty funny but only now did I notice that it was by an author that I enjoy reading!

Beta by Rachel Cohn!

Elysia is created in a laboratory, born as a sixteen-year-old girl, an empty vessel with no life experience to draw from. She is a Beta, an experimental model of a teenage clone. She was replicated from another teenage girl, who had to die in order for Elysia to exist.

Elysia's purpose is to serve the inhabitants of Demesne, an island paradise for the wealthiest people on earth. Everything about Demesne is bio-engineered for perfection. Even the air induces a strange, euphoric high, which only the island's workers -soulless clones like Elysia- are immune to.

At first, Elysia's life is idyllic and pampered. But soon she sees that Demesne's human residents, who should want for nothing, yearn. But for what, exactly? She also comes to realize that beneath the island's flawless exterior, there is an undercurrent of discontent among Demesne's worker clones. She knows she is soulless and cannot feel and should not care-so why are overpowering sensations clouding Elysia's mind?

If anyone discovers that Elysia isn't the unfeeling clone she must pretend to be, she will suffer a fate too terrible to imagine. When her one chance at happiness is ripped away with breathtaking cruelty, emotions she's always had but never understood are unleashed. As rage, terror, and desire threaten to overwhelm her, Elysia must find the will to survive.

The first in a dazzlingly original science fiction series from best-selling author Rachel Cohn, Beta is a haunting, unforgettable story of courage and love in a corrupted world.

The Story: It sounds kind of interesting but I'm afraid that like many YA novels, love is going to be the main part of it. Which sucks. It already says so in the synopsis so ugh! Whenever a synopsis mentions love as a main factor, that's my signal to run away. But the rest seems very interesting and like it could be good.

The Cover: I love the cover! Love the colors, they're very pastel-like and not bright and in your face. The girls eyes and the tattoo on her face. Just everything about it compliments each other and doesn't try to overrun each other. Also love the font it looks pretty awesome!

The Verdict: I most likely won't be buying this or reading. If it were for the alone being on my shelf I would but other than that nope. I'll check out some reviews to see how it does though!

Tuesday's Novel Spotlight (43)

Hello everybody and welcome to Tuesday! Today a couple of books have been released into the world but only one will reign them all. This week it's;

City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare!

No matter how much I think the cover looks crappy or how bad the story might be I still want to see how it'll all end. So I've ordered my copy from Barnes & Noble (because I'm in no hurry to read it) and will get it possibly Friday.

Now since everyone and their mothers know about these books I don't have to explain it to you. But hopefully you guys who got it today enjoy it more than I do.

Tuesday's Novel Spotlight (42)

Hello everyone. This one will be a short post because, well, I don't know.

Insurgent by Veronica Roth was released today and because my job sucks and all, I wasn't able to get today off to go to Barnes & Noble in NYC to get the book. Why go so far when I live in Jersey? Because it's the nearest bookstore for someone who doesn't own a car.

Anywho, I went to the train station since they have a very small bookstore but they didn't have the book and said they'd only have it by Friday. So I don't have the book and it sucks. Not because I couldn't get it (well that too) but because I've been waiting for this book for a year and knowing that I can have it but don't is killing me. It's like torture or someone taunting me.

What I don't understand though is how I live in Newark, New Jersey, one of the major if not THE major city in the state of New Jersey and we don't have a bookstore. We have the college bookstores but those are barely opened. I hate libraries so I never go there but it's not like they're opened anyway! Only twice a week.

It just bothers me as to why we don't have one when we should! It would help everyone by a lot! Think of the people who would get into reading because they'd pass by it everyday and want to check it out!

But whatever. I tweeted my mayor and asked him why we didn't have one so let's see what he says.

So until then, I shall be sad and read what I do have.

If you want to check up on the whole bookstore thing, follow me on Twitter: @SubtleChronicle

Until then, hope you guys enjoy Insurgent!

Tuesday's Novel Spotlight (41)

Welcome, welcome, welcome my little children into the world. Your mission is to please us readers by letting us read your story and find out what you are all about. There are many of you, but only a few of you will truly reign. Only one of you though will sit on the throne. This week it's;

The Immortal Rules by Julie Kagawa!

In a future world, vampires reign. Humans are blood cattle. And one girl will search for the key to save humanity.

Allison Sekemoto survives in the Fringe, the outermost circle of a vampire city. By day, she and her crew savage for food. By night, any one of them could be eaten.

Some days, all that drives Allie is her hatred of them. The vampires who keep humans as blood cattle. Until the night Allie herself is attacked-and given the ultimate choice. Die or become one of the monsters.

Faced with her own mortality, Allie becomes what she despises most. To survive, she must learn the rules of being immortal, including the most important: go long enough without human blood, and you will go mad.

Then Allie is forced to flee into the unknown, outsider her city walls. There she joins a ragged band of humans who are seeking a legend-a possible cure to the disease that killed off most of the humankind and created the rabids, the mindless creatures who threaten humans and vampires alike.

But it isn't easy to pass for human. Especially not around Zeke, who might see past the monster inside her. And Allie soon must decide what-and who-is worth dying for.

The Story: Like all other vampire stories, it sounds the same. I mean it sounded pretty cool but then the love was thrown in and I just about died myself. Why do authors feel the need to add love to every vampire novel? Just make it with no love! Seriously!

The Cover: The cover is beautiful though. If it were for the cover alone I would get it. I love the blood from the eye and the sort of background texture it has on the whole image. I actually want to go see what it looks like in person.

The Verdict: This one is a pass. I'm sick and tired of vampire novels that involve love and it's seriously like beating a dead horse. It's done and over with and I don't know why it's still around.

What are your thoughts on the author, cover and story? Leave your comments down below!

Tuesday's Novel Spotlight (40)

Welcome everyone to a late edition of Tuesday's Novel Spotlight! I would have done this earlier but with my house in complete chaos because of construction and allergies attacking my eyes left and right I just had no time. But finally I can and I have a book to show you all!

Loss by Jackie Morse Kessler!

Fifteen-year-old Billy Ballard is the kid that everyone picks on. But things change drastically when Death tells Billy he must stand in as Pestilence, the White Rider of the Apocalypse. Now armed with a Bow that allows him to strike disease from a distance, Billy lashes out at his tormentors...and accidentally causes an outbreak of meningitis. Horrified by his actions, Billy begs Death to take back the Bow. For that to happen, says Death, Billy must track down the real White Rider, and stop him from unleashing something awful on humanity-something that could make the Black Plague look like a summer cold. Does one bullied teenager have the strength to stand his ground-and the courage to save the world?

The Story: Once again Jackie Morse Kessler brings an issue in the real world and makes it into something entertaining to read. Like the other two I'm deeply intrigued on how Billy's world is going to come and how the whole bully actions will come into play. Now Pestilence isn't exactly my favorite Apocalypse, but I'm more afraid of him than any of the others.

The Cover: I know I like the other two covers but this one has to be my favorite. I seriously love the purple tones! It's not bright and all up in your face and it's not dark to see. It's a mild color that blends in together with the designs and such. But it sets it apart from the other covers and I like that.

The Verdict: If I hadn't just had problems with my card and gone on a book buying ban using my credit card I would have had it already or ordered it right now. As it is, I'm only going to buy books using the tips I get at work (which is only change and once I reach $50 I will use it to buy a B&N Gift Card and order all the books I need to. Otherwise I am getting this so freaking soon!

What are your thoughts on the author, story and cover? Leave the comments down below!

Tuesday's Novel Spotlight (39)

Welcome to Tuesday, the magical day of Book Releases. Today another batch of books have set out into the world and begin to fight for our attention. But only one book will be interesting enough to be showcased on the blog. This week it's....

Starters by Lissa Price!

In the future, teens rent their bodies to seniors who want to be young again. One girl discovers her renter plans to do more than party-her body will commit murder, if her mind can't stop it. Sixteen-year-old Callie lost her parents when the genocide spore wiped out everyone except those who were vaccinated first-the very young and very old. With no grandparents to claim Callie and her little brother, they go on the run, living as squatters, and fighting off unclaimed renegades who would kill for a cookie. Hope comes via Prime Destinations, run by a mysterious figure known only as The Old Man. He hires teens to rent their bodies to seniors, known as enders, who get to be young again. Callie's neurochip malfunctions and she wakes up in the life of her rich enter, living in her mansion, driving her cars, even dating Blake, the grandson of a senator. It's a fairy-tale new life . . . until she uncovers the Body Bank's horrible plan. . . .

The Story: I absolutely LOVE Dystopian novels so this sounds right up my alley. The only problem I have with it is the love aspect of it. I'm cautious of Dystopian novels that involve love because of Matched by Ally Condie. I was expecting one thing with it and a whole different thing happened. But the whole renting your body to an older person reminds me of prostitution and this is a really cool idea.

The Cover: The cover looks pretty cool but I think it will look better in person. You can't exactly see what the cover really looks like until it's in your hands because it could have a different texture on it and such. But I think the cover will look amazing in person if they make it all cool and not just all glossy.

The Verdict: All in all, I will be checking out this book very soon. I love anything Dystopian and just because I got one bad book doesn't mean they all will. I'll be sure to check out reviews on this book before buying though. But if I happen to walk into a bookstore this Thursday, I'll definitely get this book.

Let me know your thoughts on the cover and the story, and if you'll be buying it or not. If you have already reviewed this book, leave a link down below in the comments for me to check out. No spoilers of course.

Tuesday's Novel Spotlight (38)

Hello everybody! Welcome to another Epic Day of Book Releases. This week we see a group of sequels being brought out into the world but one debut is sure to make its mark in their territory. I present to you....

Embrace by Jessica Shirvington!

It starts with a whisper: "It's time for you to know who you are..."

On her 17th birthday, everything will change for Violet Eden. The boy she loves will betray her. Her enemy will save her. She will have to decide just how much she's willing to sacrifice.

Dangerously exciting and darkly romantic, Embrace is a compelling novel of good and evil, seductive desires and impossible choices. A centuries old war betwen fallen angels and the protectors of humanity chooses a new fighter. It's a battle Violet doesn't want, but she lives her life by two rules: don't run and don't quit. If angels seek vengeance and humans are the warriors, you could do a lot worse than betting on Violet Eden.

The Story: I just have to say it right here. I am getting sick and tired of Love Triangles being in almost every single Young Adult novel out there! It is so hard to find an actual YA novel that doesn't center itself around a love triangle. And the thing that pisses me off is how they make the girl to be the savior of the world when she does nothing because either the boys are protecting her and won't let her do anything or she just is too in love to do anything. It needs to stop. Now.

The Cover: Fortunately the cover is amazing. I love the smoke wings on her back and the font with the smoke. I think it's very eerie and mystical and could feature a girl who actually kicks ass. Without the help of  a guy or two.

The Verdict: Unfortunately I will not buy this novel. I'll look at some reviews online to see what people are saying and unless it manages to shut me up and being different, this book is a no go for me.

Let me know if you'll be buying this book. Or if you already have read it, let me know what you thought in the comments below.

Tuesday's Novel Spotlight (37)

Hello all you lovely readers! Today is a day to rejoice for books have just been released into the world. I'm going to start doing this a bit differently. I'll show you all the books that are released today, that I take note of, but only speak about one of them. Today we have two releases. One of them is a sequel while the other is the first debut novel. That book is......

When The Sea Is Rising Red by Cat Hellisen.

After seventeen-year-old Felicita's dearest friend Ilven kills herself to escape an arranged marriage, Felicita chooses freedom over privilege. She fakes her own death and leaves her sheltered life as one of Pelimburg's magical elite behind. Living in the slums, scrubbing dishes for a living, she falls for charismatic Dash while also becoming fascinated with vampire Jannik. Then soemthing shocking washes up on the beach: Ilven's death has called out of the sea a dangerous wild magic. Felicita must decide where her loyalties lie with the famile she abandoned . . . or with those who would twist this dark power to destroy Pelimburg's caste system, and the whole city along with it.

Story: To start off I'll give my take on the story. Honestly, it sounds like any other vampire novel that is out there. As soon as I read that she becomes fascinated with the vampire I immediately thought that this book wasn't for me. Everyone knows how I feel about vampires and only one book about a vampire do I truly love and it's not about romance at all. While it does sound interesting I think that it could do without the whole vampire ordeal. Why not go for something different?

Cover: The cover certainly is interesting and it shows nothing to do with vampires. If I were the type of person who bought books based on covers, which I do a lot, I'd certainly be tricked because it looks to be much darker and deeper than vampires. I love the foggy water and the lifeless body resting in on it with the glimpses of the rocks protruding from the fog. It is so eerie and gives me this creepy feeling.

Verdict: Because it is vampires I won't buy it. But I do love the cover. This one is a Pass.

Tuesday's Novel Spotlight (36)

I feel as if today is an important day. But what day it is and why it's important I can't remember! Something to do with books and today being released. Seriously can't remember but whatever. While I'm here let me introduce you to this book that was released today. The book is called......

Born Wicked by Jessica Spotswood. It's Book 1 in The Cahill Witch Chronicles and the cover is certainly.... interesting. I don't know what to think of it but it throws it up in the air for anything.

Blessed with a gift...cursed with a secret.

Everybody knows Cate Cahill and her sisters are eccentric. Too pretty, too reclusive, and far too educated for their own good. But the truth is even worse: they're witches. And if their secret is discovered by the priests of the Brotherhood, it would mean an asylum, a prison ship - or an early grave.

Before her mother died, Cate promised to protect her sisters. But with only six months left to choose between marriage and the Sisterhood, she might not be able to keep her word . . . especially after she finds her mother's diary, uncovering a secret that could spell her family's destruction. Desperate to find alternatives to their fate, Cate starts scouring banned books and questioning rebellious new friends, all while juggling tea parties, shocking marriage proposals, and a forbidden romance with the completely unsuitable Finn Belastra.

If what her mother wrote is true, the Cahill girls aren't safe. Not from the Brotherhood, the Sisterhood - not even from each other.

While it does sound interesting, it doesn't sound exactly like something I would read. But I still want to hear about it. If you have read it or would like to just leave a comment down below. I hope you're all having a good day and remember; Readings keeps Pandas safe from extinction!

Tuesday's Novel Spotlight (35)

Hello everyone and welcome to Tuesday. Another batch of books has been released but only one will be featured on the blog. This week's choice is....

The Dead of Winter by Christ Priestley!

After Michael's parents die, he is invited to stay with his guardian in a desolate country house. He begins to suspect something is not quite right on the day he arrives when he spots a mysterious woman out in the frozen mists. But little can prepare him for the solitude of the house itself. His guardian is rarely seen, and there's a malevolent force lurking in an old hallway mirror. As the chilling suspense builds, Michael realizes that the house and its grounds harbor many more secrets-both dead and alive.

First off, I do like a horror novel and second, the main character is Michael. It's as if I'm in the story myself. >.>

I might have to check this one out for some light reading but hopefully it's good. If anyone has read it or wants to read it, leave some comments down below. =D
