Stacking The Shelves (19)

Hey Chroniclers! Once again this post is late and I really wanted to get it up on Sunday but just things are complicated and my body thinks it's having fun being sick. Either way, Stacking The Shelves is a weekly feature held by the amazing Tynga over at Tynga's Reviews where we share with everyone the books that we'll be adding to our shelves.

The one book below is a book I bought but it's pretty interesting how it happened and why it's special.

The Enchanter Heir by Cinda Williams Chima! On Saturday my mom made me go with her to the doctor and then shopping for food so I made her take me to Barnes & Noble. While there I was looking for a sequel to a series I really want to read this month. I went to those computers they have around and it told me it was in stock and where it was. So I went to that section but couldn't find the book. The only ones I saw were Books 4 and 5 of the series but not 2. So I walked to the side a bit and looked down and did a double take.

At the bottom of the bookcase was this beautiful gem. I couldn't believe it because the book only comes out today! Yet, they had it there days earlier. I immediately grabbed the one copy that was left and went to pay for it. The lady looked at the book and then looked at me and yet I said nothing. I wasn't going to give up this opportunity. I left the store, entered the car and laughed at my luck.

And that's basically the story. I'm super excited to read this book! One of my favorite series and authors. It must have been a reward for everything I went through that day. =P

Cast Them Away (11)

Hey Chroniclers! Welcome to another Wednesday, glad we all made it this far! And we're still going strong. Today I bring to thee another edition of Cast Them Away! Cast Them Away is a weekly meme hosted by me where I choose an actor or actress to play the role of a character from a book if the book were ever to be turned into a movie. Today is the last day of the Pretty Little Liars theme I had going on during the month in which I chose roles for the 4 Liars of the show. So let us finish it up!

The Warrior Heir by Cinda Williams Chima is the first book in The Heir Chroniclers and is the start of a fantastic adventure. The story follows the hero called Jack who discovers that he is a Warrior in a world where houses capture Warriors to make them fight to the death for a title. The problem is, he's one of the last so they're doing anything to capture him. While Jack is the main character of the story, we get another character who has just as much personality.

Ellen is another Warrior who is captured by one of the two houses and she's forced to fight Jack to the death. The book delivers crazy turns and twists that will make you keep wanting to read more. Especially with the crazy characters. But Ellen has seriously got to be one of the most interesting characters of the novel.

She just has so much spunk and attitude and is a big fighter for her friends and family and even more, herself. I had to choose the perfect Liar for her and even though there's only one left, she was the perfect one for this role.

Ashley Benson, aka Hanna is probably the one with the biggest career of all the Liars. The reason I chose her for the role of Ellen is because we've already seen her kick ass in the real world in Spring Breakers so I'm sure a fantasy movie won't be that much different.

Ashley Benson has this thing about her where she's such a pretty girl, but confirms the fact that looks can be deceiving. Kind of like Buffy. She can snap your neck and kill you if she has too. Hopefully not in real life. I can imagine Ashley holding a sword comfortably in her hand and not mind getting bloodied and roughed up with some action. Not to mention people would recognize her right away and she'll be known as the character.

The Warrior Heir is one of the few books I really want to see made into a movie and if it is, I want Ashley Benson in it. I love seeing people out of the ordinary and she'd be perfect for it.

This Or That (2)

Hey Chroniclers! It's Friday once again and that means it is time for This Or That! A weekly meme hosted by me where I pit two covers against one another to see which is the fan favorite. They both have the same story, but the image that sells is different. At the end of the post you'll be able to vote for which you prefer and then see which one wins at the end of the week. Let us begin!

The Warrior Heir by Cinda Williams Chima.

At the head of this magical society sit the feuding houses of the Red Rose and the White Rose, whose power is determined by playing The Game-a magical tournament in which each house sponsors a warrior to fight to the death. The winning house rules the Weir.

As if his bizarre magical heritage isn't enough, Jack finds out that he's not just another member of Weirlind-he's one of the last of the warriors-at a time when both houses are scouting for a player.

So the first cover is the one I fell in love with an have. It's very simple with an object in the front, solid background color, and the cool corners. Now the new cover has this cool image in the background that gives more to the setting. 

Between the two, I seriously can't choose. They both look so cool but maybe the second looks a tad bit cooler. What do you guys think though? Vote for your favorite down below and let's see which is the winner!

Cover Reveal: The Enchanter Heir by Cinda Williams Chima

Today a cover for the fourth book in this amazing series has been revealed. While I like the cover I kind feel hmm about it.

The cover has gotten a minor upgrade along with the previous three covers and I'm not sure I really like it it. I enjoyed the simple background with just the item but as long as the spine is the same I'll be good.

The cover was revealed on hypable.com along with a synopsis. SPOILERS FOR THE FIRST THREE BOOKS!

They called it the Thorn Hill Massacre-the brutal attack on a once-thriving Weird community. Though Jonah Kinlock lived through it, he did not emerge unscathed: like the other survivors Jonah possesses unique magical gifts that set him apart from members of the mainline guilds. Tuesday's Novel Spotlight (45)

Hello beautiful people! You all look very wonderful today, or at least your computers do. It's like you're glowing and it must be because of the books being released today! Which are some amazing finale books! And I just realized all three are the final books of the series!

Finale by Becca Fitzpatrick! I still haven't read Silence by Hush, Hush was the very first ARC that I have ever gotten so it'll be cool to finish a series that I've been since before the very beginning!

Beautiful Redemption by Kami Garcia & Margaret Stohl! I'm currently reading Beautiful Darkness so I have a while before I reach the end but I just want to own this book because the covers are amazing in person and I can't wait to see them all together in person.

The Crimson Crown by Cinda Williams Chima! Another series where I've been with it since the first book. I can't wait to see how it ends and I know it'll be crazy. Also, can't wait to see the covers together!

A Closing Post (Birthday Bash)

The month has come and gone and here I am still blogging. It's crazy but now I'm counting down to when my blog turns 3. And I'm counting down to when I get 1000 followers of which I'm halfway done. 2 years ago I didn't know how far the blog would go. I wanted it to go far and for me to do what I love. And here I am, still going strong with no intentions of quitting. This has literally changed my life and I wouldn't change it for the world.

I just want to thank the many authors and bloggers who participated in the blog event. To the many followers I gained and who have stuck around since Day 1. To my friends who put up with me every day while I go on about things that does with reading and blogging. Here's to another year full of awesome reading!

Cinda Williams Chima Interview

Today's post we bring you a special interview with none other than Cinda Williams Chima. Our wonderful Cinda has been super busy to the point of not even posting on her own blog but she agreed to do a small interview with me and I love her oh so much for that!

So let's get this started!!

Who is Cinda Williams Chima?

I am a person who has never stopped transforming herself. Sometimes I regret that I didn't find success as a writer sooner, but it may be that it just took this long to gather the experiences that I'm mining today.

Was it a difficult transaction going from The Heir Chronicles, to the more complex Seven Realms Series?

Not really! Each of the Heir Chronicles books is a bit more complex than the last. I think that happens naturally as your writing skills develop (not that I think complexity is always a good thing!) Because The Seven Realms is set in a world I created for an adult high fantasy series that I wrote in the midst of writing the Heir Chronicles, I felt very much at home in that world from the beginning. I've found it more challenging to go back to the Heir Chronicles now, and recapture the voice that I used in that series. You can never entirely go back.

If you could switch any character from each series into the other series, who would they be and why?

I'd like to introduce Amon Byrne to Jack Swift. I think they'd have a lot to talk about. Madison Moss and Raisa ana'Marianna would be an interesting combination, as would Leesha Middleton and Cat Tyburn.

How do you feel knowing that the final chapter of the Seven Realms Series is so close to the readers and that soon enough they'll see the whole vision you saw?

In some way I can't wait for them to read that final chapter; in other ways, I dread it. I'm hoping that readers will find it as satisfactory as I do. And that they can see the story flowing forward from there.

Do you have any plans to write more novels after finishing all the books in both The Heir Chronicles and Seven Realms Series?

I plan to write until they pry my cold, dead hands from the keyboard. I hope that readers will keep wanting to immerse themselves in the worlds I create.

Now that actually cleared up some questions I had (even though they all were questions I had) but I finally know that the Seven Realms Series is an adult series which is epic! 

But again, I want to thank Cinda Williams Chima so much because she took time from her super busy schedule to answer these questions. So thank you, Cinda, and as long as you write, I will be a huge fan and buying your books as soon as they come out!

Cover Reveal: The Crimson Crown by Cinda Williams Chima

Earlier this morning around 3:00 AM, Cinda Williams Chima revealed the cover to the fourth and final novel in the Seven Realms Series. I had the pleasure of viewing it earlier today before going to work, but because work was in the way I wasn't able to put it up for you guys. But finally I'm home and able to do what I want and so I present the cover for The Crimson Crown by Cinda Williams Chima!

I knew the cover was going to be red because we had already covered green and blue. Not to mention the word crimson is in the title but it means nothing. It could have been yellow and I would have been surprised.

My initial reaction to the cover was whoa, red! But then the more I got to look at it the more I felt, not disappointed but not very excited. The cover just isn't calling me. Perhaps it could be the quality but I am just not feeling it.

The main object which is the necklace here looks real. You might be wondering what the hell I mean by that but on the first three novels the objects had this sort of mystical look about them, kind of CGI looking where this one feels like an actual object.

The second thing that got me a bit worried was the bottom cover. The first three we have this beautiful scenery with a sort of mist surrounding it. In this one we have a clear image and it freaks me out. It breaks from the tradition of the book not to mention the different colors it has. But now that I'm looking at it, I'm noticing the green tree's which represents book one, the blue river which is book two, and the purple smoke which is book three. But it is still weird seeing an actual scene with different colors.

I'm sure the cover will look amazing in person but for right now I just don't quite like it as I would love to like it. Maybe I'll get used to it and maybe I won't. But as of right now, my favorite cover still stands as The Gray Wolf Throne.

And even if the cover is a bit eh, I'm so excited to see how it is all going to end. So much needs to go down and I'm so excited yet nervous to watch everything unfold. This book can not get here any sooner!

Monday's Novel Talk (43)

Wow! It's been a very long time since I've posted but between work and school and some epic events, I've just been busy. Oh and reading which I haven't stopped.

Lately, some amazing books have come out or I bought that I just couldn't wait and had to read them even though I was reading something else.

To begin;

The Gray Wolf Throne by Cinda Williams Chima. I'm on Chapter 14, Page 188 of 517. Other books got in the way but I will make sure I finish it before anything else gets in the way. I love Chima so I'm kinda bummed out that I haven't finished it yet.

Tricks by Ellen Hopkins. I'm on Page 170 of 625. I love, love, love Ellen Hopkins, so this is one of the books I stopped the first one for. I would've been done reading because I love all of her books but another one got in the way.

Flirtin' With The Monster by Ellen Hopkins (and others). This is the one I'm trying to finish right now. Currently on Page 56 of 180 I'll finish this soon enough. It's a collection of essays by authors and Ellen and her kids and family about Crank and Glass so it's a fast interesting read that's pretty crazy.

That's really all I've been doing though. Just had to post something up to let you guys know I'm alive. I got some interesting things coming out this week so make sure to check back for that! =D

In My Mailbox/Book Haul (14)

A dystopian novel set in today's world, sounds pretty interesting so we'll see how it goes.

The Gray Wolf Throne by Cinda Williams Chima (Hardcover)

Pre-Ordered this in July, finally got it. Super excited as I love Chima's work and this series is freaking epic! Can't wait to read it.

And that's basically all I got. One I bought one, I received for review. But I have a few books I want to buy and a couple that I already pre-ordered and so I'm waiting to receive them. I hope your haul was just as good as I think mine was. Leave a link down below and I'll go check it out!

Tuesday's Novel Spotlight (30)

Happy Tuesday! I hope you are all enjoying your day and for most of us, our last week of summer vacation! But even with school nothing will stop us from enjoying our Tuesday's as more and more books are released. Today two wonderful books were set in the world. One being The Gray Wolf Throne by Cinda Williams Chima. But because that is a sequel I want to introduce you guys about a debut novel!

The Unwanteds by Lisa McMann.

I had the chance of reading an ARC of this book a while ago but I want to know if you guys have read this or want to read this and your thoughts on it! =) Now I will go and get ready to watch some Pretty Little Liars and read my book =D See ya later!
