Cast Them Away (3)

Hey Chroniclers! Happy Wednesday! I think it's Wednesday. My days are so off this week that I don't even know what's going on. I feel a bit confused and as if something is missing but there isn't. I think I might need to start running again to get out of the house more often. Let us get on with business though! Cast Them Away is a weekly meme hosted by me, The Subtle Chronicler, in which I choose an actor or an actress for a role from a book if it were ever to become a movie. WARNING: There may be spoilers withing if you haven't read the novel.

This week's will be a novel that I just finished reading this early morning! How To Save A Life by Sara Zarr! How To Save A Life is the story told from two different perspectives, Mandy and Jill. Mandy is a girl from Omaha who is pregnant and runs away to the house of a lady, Robin, who will be adopting her unborn child. Jill is the daughter of Robin who doesn't trust Mandy at all. Through-out the novel we see the truth, lies, the hurt and the trust between the two girls as the story unravels, but there's one person who I saw clearly in my mind with an actress. Robin.

Robin decides to adopt a baby out of the blue about a year after her husband's death. Along the novel, we see many moments where Robin stands tall and knows exactly what she wants. But then, there are others where she crumbles and breaks down and doesn't know what to do with her life anymore.

The person I would cast for this role would be...

Jamie Lee Curtis! Robin reminded me so much of Jamie Lee Curtis in Freaky Friday, the movie. In the book, Robin decides that enough is enough with moping and cuts her hair short and goes through this transformation to keep living life after her husband. She's in her early fifties but looks younger.

I think that Jamie Lee Curtis would be amazing for this part. I think it'd be a good role to bring Jamie back onto the big screen. Seeing her as this tough and proud lady who's a hard business worker but then be able to see the emotional side, and that she's not able to keep herself holding on much longer.

Plus I freaking love Jamie Lee Curtis and just want her back. So what I say is; make this book a movie and contact Jamie Lee Curtis and give her the part! That's it! Just do it!

What do you guys think of the casting? Do you have anyone else in mind? Who would you cast for the roles of Mandy and Jill? Leave your comments below and let me know!

Yes, please. Jamie Lee Curtis is severely underrated.

And now I want to read this book also.
