New Years Is So Close!

Hey guys! Like I said I wasn't going to update with the regular posts these past two weeks. New Years Eve is already tomorrow and that's so crazy! A brand new year! Finally! =P

Anyway, I've read my last book of the year today. I finished, The Exiled Queen by Cinda Williams Chima! It was good and so epic, I can not wait for book 3. The next time I'll read will be on Saturday that way I can start over fresh and new.

I have some posts coming up about 2010. Like the books I've read this year and how many pages I've read. My Top 10 favorite books/series of the year, in no particular order.

I will be taking the Book Challenge of reading 50 books. I have about 50 books on my to be read pile at this moment because of Christmas and I'm still waiting for another book. Not to mention the sequels =O

About the 300 followers before New Years, screw it! I have 280, 279 now, and I'm so grateful for that! That is more than I can ask! It hasn't even been a year for my blog and I have close to 300 followers! I want to thank you all and let you all know that I love you all so much for following!

2011 will be the year of new things and change. Be expecting more book giveaways (with books going out on time.) More reviews, possibly more author interviews! And I will also want to change the layout to make it more me. Just gotta find out how =P

So yes, thank you all for following, I hope you all have a happy and very successful new year. And to the other bloggers out there, may we get hundreds of followers and show everyone how reading books is beyond amazing!

Happy Christmas Eve Eve

Hey Followers! No, not followers, friends, family. It's Christmas Eve Eve! I can not wait until tomorrow to eat food and then it's midnight and then presents! It's funny because half of the things I got are books. Okay, they're all books and stuff! But I received books from two giveaways and wrapped them. And I bought Nightshade just a while ago and wrapped it up to, from Santa. It's just awesome, at this rate I'll need another bookcase. Well I already do but still haha.

Anyway, like I said, I don't have anything scheduled to post so I'm just writing jibberish here. Tomorrow I'll wish you all a Christmas Eve. But for today, Happy Christmas Eve Eve! Hope you guys are all safe and healthy and just plain out epic!

So I'll see you all tomorrow <3

Night Angel Trilogy Movie

So I haven't officially started reading them yet. >.> I have the first one, and thanks to a certain Santa Clause (waves to person who knows who they are) I now have the second and third, although I won't open them up until Christmas! By Christmas I mean, wait all Christmas Eve and then as European tradition has it, open the presents at midnight!

But the books seem really awesome and from what I hear, they're one of the best trilogies out there. The covers do look freaking intense and I haven't read any assassin novels yet. So perhaps this will show me the light to the assassin world? But anyway, as with epic novels, epic movies are also made. I just found out that the rights to The Night Angel Trilogy by Brent Weeks has been sold to none other than Cam Gigandet. To those of you who do not know him, he played James, the blonde pony-tailed vampire in the Twilight movie. Yes, weird, they sold the rights to the movie to the actor. But he will produce it along with his agency, William Morris Endeavor.

One thing I'm hoping is, they make all three movies. If they can make all three movies, we can see something amazing here. I know I haven't read the novels and watch me end up hating them (not likely) but assassin movies are just pure epicness! This movie could be a hit with the trilogy. If they do it right and don't try to cheese it up for teenagers. Seriously?! They better not! I know I might be late with the news, unless you guys haven't heard about it, then in that case is it brand new news <.<

And when I say next year, it's because I'm trying to finish The Exiled Queen by Cinda Williams Chima before the year ends, so that I can start fresh next year.

By the way, I know I haven't posted since last week, but I um kinda forgot and been too lazy. Saturday I went to New York City to see the tree. It was anti-climatic, but I went to times square and that was fun! Sunday I went Christmas shopping. Monday I did nothing I think. Tuesday (today) I did nothing and decorated this one place I ran track for. And when I say nothing I mean nothing with a side of catching up on shows and reading in-between! So yea, hopefully tomorrow I'll post. I might pass on the weekly meme's this week and next week and just post stuff up since it's the Holidays! So I hope everyone is safe and is doing good! I'll be sure to post tomorrow with something!

Guess That Novel (18)

Hello my fellow followers! It is Wednesday which means, GUESS THAT NOVEL!

So I'm over here watching The Vampire Diaries. But I remember I stopped at a certain episode and need to watch the rest before new episodes come back in January. I also have to watch the rest of Merlin Season 3 and the other episodes of Hellcats I've been missing out. Luckily my last final is tomorrow so I can just finish and then watch the episodes and read all I want =D

Now let's see last week's quote;

The elf woman glanced at her forge in the center of the atrium, then clapped her hands together, her eyes lighting up with a combination of eagerness and determination. "Let us to it, then!"

The first person that got it actually got it correct! That person is; Onge! Unfortunately they don't have a blog, at least they didn't add their blog link. But they guessed Brisingr by Christopher Paolini! But let us get another quote for this week! =D

So I can't believe I'm gonna use this book but I just saw a commercial on t.v. and the quote just made me really lazy enough to put it up.

"I'm gonna keep fighting for you until your heart stops beating."

I swear someone better get it because it hurt me to even type it out. So yea, all you have to do is click the link here and then fill out the form. Add your blog link also if you want people to check you out. And next week I shall see you with the answer!

Tuesday's Novel Spotlight (16)

So my blog feed has this book cover everywhere! Every single blogger, (or most of us) is posting up this book cover because it was just released today. I could've put it up earlier but I had to write a paper for a final that I finished today. One more final left! Woot Woot!

Anyway! City of Fallen Angels is this week's Novel. Why? Because the cover has been released and the series is just freaking awesome! I can not wait to add it to my bookshelf. I just have to make some room for it mwuahahaha. Anyway, if you've ready The Mortal Instruments' first three books then you know how City of Glass ended epically. But now the story continues.

Someone has been killing the Shadowhunters who used to be in Valentine's Circle and leaving their bodies around New York City in a manner designed to provoke hostility between Downworlders and Shadowhunters. Internecine warfare among vampires is ripping the Downworld community apart, and only Simon - the Daylighter who everyone wants on their side - can decide the outcome; too bad he wants nothing to do with Downworld politics. Meanwhile, Jace and Clary investigate a mystery that has deeply personal consequences for them - consequences that may strengthen their relationship, or rip it apart forever. Love, blood, betrayal and revenge: the stakes are higher than ever in City of Fallen Angels.

Now I just can't wait to read it! Be sure to keep a look out for this book and tell me down below in the comments if you're excited to read this!

Monday's Novel Talk (22)

So I'll be doing this quick so that I can read a bit before going to bed. Tomorrow is one of my last few days of Psychology, Reading and History! YAY! Although I will miss my Psychology class ='(

But let's do this!

The Exiled Queen by Cinda Williams Chima same as last week.

Naked Empire by Terry Goodkind. I'm on Page 591. If I read 100 pages tonight I'll have only 25 left to read tomorrow. Or if I'm badass enough I'll stay up a bit later to read it. So sorry this is really really short but it's almost 11 and I just came out of the shower too. =P

So I'll see you all tomorrow!

In My Mailbox/Book Haul (8)

Hello guys and girls! It is Monday and I was basically not here this whole weekend so I didn't post. And I'd just like to say that this week is my last week of the semester and I have finals and then I'll be free! So I'm doing yesterday In My Mailbox post. In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by the beloved, The Story Siren. In My Mailbox allows you to show everyone and share the books you got that week. I, myself, add movies also since I get a few each week. So this week wasn't anything big. Just two movies and a book I've been wanting. So let's see what I got. =D

My dad got this not knowing I wanted it. This is one of the two alien movies I really want to see, the other being Battle: Los Angeles. They are both crazy good looking!

Strange lights descend on the city of Los Angeles, drawing people outside like moths to a flame where an extraterrestrial force threatens to swallow the entire human population off the face of the Earth.

Not really something I would watch but I'll give it a try.

Doug MacRay (Ben Affleck) was born and raised in Charlestown, a blue-collar neighborhood in Boston, where crime is a part of life. Charlestown is the world's capital for carjacking, kidnappings, and armed robberies. The tricks of the criminal trade are passed down from father to son. Doug is the brains and ruthless leader of a gang of bank robbers who have been able to get out clean after each bank robbery. But Doug knows that his luck will not last forever, and he is looking for one last big heist that will give him the chance to leave the town in his rear-view mirror. But no one will let him, especially, his right-hand man "Jem" James Coughlin (Jeremy Renner); because he believes that it would be a personal betrayal to him, and he is not going to allow that. In a recent bank job, Doug forced the bank manager Claire (Rebecca Hall) to open the safe, and then took her hostage as leverage for the getaway, and eventually setting her free unharmed. Doug knows that he should leave Claire alone, but she only lives four blocks from him, and he can handle it, but he begins to fall for her. Their romantic involvement is about to take them down a perilous path.
The one book that I've been wanting for a while and I finally got it yesterday! Woot Woot!

Feisty Nora Grey somehow survived the crisis of Hush, Hush!, but dangers just as frightening loom in this standalone sequel. Patch, her guardian angel and love interest, appears to have a dark side and a wandering eye. Worse yet, he seems intent on obstructing Nora as she hunts for the truth behind her father's mysterious death.

So that's all I got last week. Hopefully this week will be just as good. So what did you get?

Incarceron Leading Role Actor Revealed

Now must of you all know about Incarceron and are patiently waiting for Sapphique which is due this month! But some news has just come for the Incarceron Movie on who will play the leading role.

That person is none other than Taylor Lautner! -_-

Is it me or is the worst choice for the role? I always imagine Finn, the main character, as some sort of athletic but not too buff type of guy. Like, pale complexion, since they get no sun. And overall not Taylor Lautner. But I guess they want known people in the movie to attract viewers. I'd rather they cast a nobody and get him as the character, than casting someone famous just for their experience and viewers.

I swear if I hear raging teenagers going off about this book as if they know it like no one else, I'm putting them into Incarceron. I don't know why I'm so affected by this choice because I never really care and am always happy with choices. It's just that he's the complete opposite of what I imagined but I guess I'll see how he does. Hopefully he'll do really good and prove me wrong!

For those of you who don't know who Taylor Lautner is, http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1210124/ check him out there. Tell me what you guys think in the comments below. I know a lot of people have a lot to say.

Guess That Novel (17)

Hey guys! It's Thursday! And I have no more classes until Monday! YAY! I can just stay home, finish these papers, read and watch movies. The joy! (not even being sarcastic this time...) So I'm trying to get this post out of the way so let's get to it.

The quote from last week was;

Make your choice, adventurous Stranger;
Strike the bell and bide the danger,
Or wonder, till it drives you mad,
What would have followed if you had.

Now I know this one is more difficult than the previous others because it's a small poem from the book but someone got it correct!

Congratulations to... La Coccinelle from The Lady Bug Reads! She answered The Magician's Nephew by C.S. Lewis and got it correct! Wooooo! Check out her blog! She currently, at this moment, has 241 followers. Let's at least help her get up to 300 by the end of this year. Read her posts and leave her comments with love!

Now for this week's quote, as always, I have to look for a book first and then choose a quote... So this might take a while... -zips away-

This is literally an hour later as I forgot to come back -__-

-zips back-

I GOT ONE! Kinda. I really didn't look for one lol. But here we go I got one!

The elf woman glanced at her forge in the center of the atrium, then clapped her hands together, her eyes lighting up with a combination of eagerness and determination. "Let us to it, then!"

It is short but hopefully someone will get it. Hopefully. If it makes it any better, it involves Dragons. That is my only hint. ;)

But anyway, fill out the form, with the title of the novel and the author. And next week we shall see if anyone got it correct! Leave some comment down below showing some love. And hopefully I'll put up today's post today. See you all later =D

Tuesday's Novel Spotlight (15)

So this is Tuesday's post and I might do Wednesday's tomorrow since I have to wake up at 6 in the morning for my class. -__- The joy. But anyway! Let's get on with this week's novel.

Witch & Wizard by James Patterson! This one has been on my list since its released date and I hear mixed emotions about this but I'll still give it a shot. So what is it about?

The world is changing: the government has seized control of every aspect of society, and now, kids are disappearing. For 15-year-old Wisty and her older brother Whit, life turns upside down when they are torn from their parents one night and slammed into a secret prison for no reason they can comprehend. The New Order, as it is known, is clearly trying to suppress Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Being a Normal Teenager. But while trapped in this totalitarian nightmare, Wisty and Whit discover they have incredible powers they'd never dreamed of. Can this newly minted witch and wizard master their skills in time to save themselves, their parents-and maybe the world?

So from the synopsis the book sounds awesome and as if I'd love it. But you never know, it may be a total flop. Have you read it? If so what are your thoughts on it. Leave a comment down below! =D

Monday's -Late- Novel Talk (21)

So Monday I wrote the Mailbox post late. And yesterday I fell asleep around 9 and woke up about an hour later thinking it was time to go to school. I was so confused and lost I felt a bit sad for myself. So here I am and I will have to do three posts today! But I shall love it! =D

We start with Monday! What am I reading?

Naked Empire by Terry Goodkind. If I would've read yesterday instead of going back to sleep, (but I was extremely tired and I don't know why. Might have been waking up at 6 in the morning for class.), I would've got really close to finishing the book. I am currently on page 509 out of 725. Yesterday I would've gotten to 609+ and then today I would've ended up finishing it! But it's only Wednesday. If I do yesterday's plan starting today, I'll have it done by Friday!

Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. I finished that yesterday in class and it was one of the worst books I read. Now no one in the class gave me a good chance to explain myself. I started with, "It's the way it's written." And then I got attacked because I "perhaps don't understand because it is too complex for me...this language that was written way back..." Um... no. What I truly meant was the way SHE wrote it. Not the way it's written because of back in the day. I just didn't like the format she wrote it in and I didn't like the characters. My Professor (hi professor) possibly thought I was crazy because I said that this classic was and I quote "horrible". To me it is. Characters were blah, the story was okay, the way it was written was blah. I give it a T for Troll!

The Exiled Queen by Cinda Williams Chima. I have a pile of about 30+ books to read. Whenever I finish a book I pick another up so I can start it and read a couple of books at a time. Well I have to stop that! So what I'll be doing is. This and Naked Empire are currently the only two books I'm reading. So I'll just finish these and then go back to a book at a time whole deal. That way it'll be better for me! But I'm in the same page as I was last week. Nothing changed.

So that's what I'm reading? What are you reading? Leave it in the comments down below!

In My Mailbox/Book Haul (7)

Welcome to another week of the year 2010. One of the very few left until January 2011. Exciting isn't? =D Anyway, since yesterday I got home late, I'll be doing the In My Mailbox post now. In My Mailbox is a weekly post hosted by The Story Siren, where we talk about the books we bought, got at the library or received in the mail. I also add movies since I usually get a couple of movies also. So let's see what I got this week. Or the past week. =D

The A-Team

One of the movies my mom got me this weekend. I still haven't seen this one yet so hopefully I'll get to soon.

Four American soldiers who are in Iraq are sent on a mission to recover plates for printing 100 dollar bills that were used to print a billion dollars. After doing the job and returning to the base their commanding officer is killed in an explosion and the plates are stolen by another operative. They would be court martialed and sent to different prisons. 6 months later, the leader, Hannibal Smith is visited by a CIA spook who tells him he knows where the man who took the plates is and wants him and his men to recover it. So he helps him escape and he breaks out the others and they go after the plates. But after doing it, they discover that the spook might not be okay. And a military intelligence officer who was involved with one of them is pursuing them.

Another one that my mom bought me. I actually saw this one yesterday night and loved it. It's full of Potter stars, and there's this thing at the end that ties into the first one where I was like ZOMFG AWWWW lol xD

Nanny McPhee arrives to help a harried young mother who is trying to run the family farm while her husband is away at war, though she uses her magic to teach the woman's children and their two spoiler cousins five new lessons.

Another one my mom got me this weekend. I wouldn't get this myself since I'm not really a Twilight fan. I do enjoy the movies though but still. I might as well include it.

Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger as Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob -- knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella is confronted with the most important decision of her life.

The last movie my mom got me this week. Still haven't seen this one yet either. This one looks pretty hilarious though lol

Terry Hoitz's past mistakes in the line of duty and Allen Gamble's reluctance to take risks have landed them the roles of the "Other Guy's", disgraced New York City Police detectives relegated to filling out paperwork for cocky hero cops Danson and Highsmith. The mismatched duo must look past their differences when they take on a high-profile investigation of shady capitalist David Ershon and attempt to fill the shoes of notoriously reckless officers they idolize.

This is part of a box set I bought of The Chronicles of Narnia. It consists of 7 books and although I have the bind-up version, I wanted a new one since it was all beat up.

Narnia. . .where the woods are thick and cool, where Talking Beasts are called to life. . .a new world where the adventure begins.

Digory and Polly meet and become friends one cold, wet summer in London. Their lives burst into adventure when Digory's Uncle Andrew, who thinks he is a magician, sends them hurtling to. . .somewhere else. They find their way to Narnia, newborn from the Lion's song, and encounter the evil sorceress Jadis, before they finally return home.

Narnia ... the land beyond the wardrobe door, a secret place frozen in eternal winter ... a magical country waiting to be set free.

Lucy is the first to find the secret of the wardrobe in the professor's mysterious old house. At first her brothers and sister don't believe her when she tells of her visit to the land of Narnia. But soon Edmund, then Peter and Susan step through the wardrobe themselves. In Narnia they find a country buried under the evil enchantment of the White Witch. When they meet the Lion Aslan, they realize they've been called to a great adventure and bravely join the battle to free Narnia from the Witch's sinister spell.

Narnia...where horses talk and hermits like company, where evil men turn into donkeys, where boys go into battle...and where the adventure begins.

During the Golden Age of Narnia, when Peter is High King, a boy names Shasta discovers he is not the son of Arsheesh, the Calormene fisherman, and decides to run far away to the North--to Narnia. When he is mistaken for another runaway, Shasta is led to discover who he really is and even finds his real father.

Saw the movie not so long ago for the 100th time and I still love it! I think it was on T.V. this time and not on DVD hmm... XD

A Prince fights for his crown.

Narnia ... where animals talk ... where trees walk ... where a battle is about to begin.

A Prince denied his rightful throne gathers an army in a desperate attempt to rid his land of a false king. But in the end, it is a battle of honor between two men alone that will decide the fate of an entire world.

So the movie comes out this Friday and I can not wait to see it! Although I might not see it this Friday =( But I shall watch it soon! <3>

Narnia...the world of wicked dragons and magic spells, where the very best is brought out of even the worst people, where anything can happen (and most often does)...and where the adventure begins.

The Dawn Treader is the first ship Narnia has seen in centuries. King Caspian has built it for his voyage to find the seven lords, good men whom his evil uncle Mizaz banished when he usurped the throne. The journey takes Edmund, Lucy, and their cousin Eustace to the Easter Islands, beyond the Silver Sea, toward Aslan's country at the End of the World.

Narnia...where owls are wise, where some of the giants like to snack on humans (and, if carefully cooked, on Marsh-wiggles, too), where a prince is put under an evil spell...and where the adventure begins.

Eustace and Jill escape from the bullies at school through a strange door in the wall, which, for once is unlocked. It leads to the open moor...or does it? Once again Aslan has a task for the children, and Narnia needs them. Through dangers untold and caverns deep and dark, they pursue the quest that brings them face to face with the evil Witch. She must be defeated if Prince Rilian is to be saved.

Narnia. . .where dwarfs are loyal and tough and strong-or are they. . .where you must say goodbye. . .and where the adventure begins again.

The Unicorn says that humans are brought to Narnia when Narnia is stirred and upset. And Narnia is in trouble now: A false Aslan roams the land. Narnia's only hope is that Eustace and Jill, old friends to Narnia, will be able to find the true Aslan and restore peace to the land. Their task is a difficult one because, as the Centaur says, "The stars never lie, but Men and Beasts do." Who is the real Aslan and who is the imposter.

So that is all I got this week. Er...last week. Hopefully I'll get some books this week, or maybe I'll wait and buy more on Christmas! Mwuahahaha! What did you guys get in your mailbox? Have you seen or read any of these movies/books? Leave a comment down below!

A Story About A Hospital...

So you guys might be wondering why I haven't posted anything recently. Well Thursday my mom broke her arm, again, but this time her left instead of right. She broke it in April/May and recovered not so long ago with occasional pain. And now it's the other one. -__- Wow! But yea, Thursday I had to go to the Hospital and stuff and there was this old lady there. And the conversation went something like this;

Lady: Jessie.
Me: >.> -looks subtly around-
Lady: Do you know why I called you Jessie?
Me: <.< Why?
Lady: You look and remind me of my son.
Me: Aww, how cute, thank you. How old is he?
Lady: 28.
Me: Oh.

Lady: Susan.
Me: O.o <.<
Lady: She reminds me of my sister Susan.
Me: Who?
Lady: You're mom.
My mom: -in Portuguese- What is she talking about?
Lady: Yea. So she broke her arm?
Me: Yea =(
Lady: I broke my left arm before. And right. Both legs. My neck. I've been broken all over.
Me and my mom: O.O!

And then! She was hooked up to the oxygen tank and this lady took her away and IT WASN'T PLUGGED IN! Before I got to say anything they went into this room. So I figured they're gonna hook her up. She comes back minutes later, and she's dazed out and like foaming at the mouth and not breathing and falling. Then they noticed that the thing wasn't plugged in! She was getting no oxygen and dying in front of everyone.

I was just like Holy Crap!!!!

But yea, I hate hospitals. They're so morbid and no happy at all. At least make me feel comfortable there!

So yea that's my story. But onto book news, I found some books being released next year and got the covers up on the side! =D And I have some reviews to write so I should be getting to that soon. My semester ends like the 19th of this month and starts around the 17th of January. So I'll be reading and writing reviews galore =D

See you later peeps! Thanks for following! Leave comments showing love <3

Guess That Novel (16)

It's Wednesday once again! And I can finally do Guess That Novel! Wooot! I'm so tired though and the TV is on and calling me and the bed seems so comfy... -snores- whoa sorry, knocked out there for a while. =D

Anyway let's see last week's quote! Or the week before. Which ever it was =O

The monster saw my determination in my face, and gnashed his teeth in the impotence of anger. "Shall each man," he cried, "find a wife for his bosom, and each beast have his mate, and I be alone? I had feeling of affection, and they were requited by detestation and scorn. Man! you may hate; but beware! Your hours will pass in dread and misery, and soon the bolt will fall which must ravish from you your happiness forever..."

Well, a few people answered, all correctly, but only one person answered it first!
Andrea from Loud Words & Sounds got it right away by answering; Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. Thank you Andrea for participating and everyone else for answering! You guys are epic! Now for this week's quote, let's choose a novel and a quote.

Make your choice, adventurous Stranger;
Strike the bell and bide the danger,
Or wonder, till it drives you mad,
What would have followed if you had.

YAY! I chose a quote! Now all you have to do is click the link and fill out the form! Just answer by putting your name and the name of the novel. If you're the first one to answer both novel and author, even if someone answered the novel correctly first, you'll still get a shout out =D

So yea fill out the form! Leave comments below! Thank you for following! I'll see you all later! =D

Tuesday's Novel Spotlight (14)

Hello my 261 Followers! <3

The Gathering by Kelley Armstrong! The Gathering is actually book 4 in The Darkest Powers Series so the adventure still continues. From what I'm getting it's basically book one of another trilogy but still part of the same series. What's the book about though?

Maya lives in a small medical-research town on Vancouver Island. How small? You can't find it on the map. It has less than two-hundred people, and her school has only sixty-eight students-for every grade from kindergarten to twelve.

Now, strange things are happening in this claustrophobic town, and Maya's determined to get to the bottom of them. First, the captain of the swim team drowns mysteriously in the middle of a calm lake. A year later, mountain lions start appearing around Maya's home, and they won't go away. Her best friend, Daniel, starts experiencing "bad vibes" about certain people and things. It doesn't help that the new bad boy in town, Rafe, has a dangerous secret-and he's interested in one special part of Maya's anatomy: Her paw-print birthmark.

Hmm, makes you wonder what the hell is going on. And for those of you who are long time fans of the series, wait no more because the Prologue and Chapter I are online for you to read. Now you might be wondering exactly when this book will be released, and there's a date, or a month I should say. April 2011! Isn't it just exciting knowing it's so close. In just a few days we'll be in January of 2011! The year surely has flown by rather quickly.

Well leave your comments below on whether your anticipating this novel or not. And for real, leave comments. They make me happy and I love comments! <3

And tomorrow we shall once again start with GUESS THAT NOVEL! dun Dun DUN!

Monday's Novel Talk (20)

Hello my wonderful Followers! Finally I'm posting again. I finished my last paper that is due tomorrow just an hour or so ago! So I'm really excited to get back to reading and posting up on my blog. So it's Monday and that means it's Novel Talk time! Since I haven't read any books in a while, although I did read a few, I'll be asking you guys for something. Are there any books you're all waiting for to be released? I noticed that my Upcoming Novels thing on the side has like 3 books in total now so I wanted to know if you guys have any novels you're waiting for? That way I can add up there. Leave the novels down below in the comments. And now onto the talking!

Currently reading three different novels. The first is for class;

Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. Again my thoughts of this book have not changed, it's actually getting worse. The language is so boring, I mean I know I love details and complexity, by please Mary, simplicity would work better for you. She just uses a million different words to describe one thing and at times confuses the people. Plus she doesn't show but tells the story. And everyone knows the golden rule of writing; show don't tell. But yea, I'm currently on Page 42, Chapter VI although I'm supposed to be way further than that. And to think I was actually excited for this book. Blah!

The Exiled Queen by Cinda Williams Chima. I actually haven't read further than where I was already on Page 44, Chapter 3. Looks like I was wrong the previous novel talk post =P I think I said 70 something haha. But it's still good, just on hold for a while as I get a certain novel out of the way. That novel being;

Naked Empire by Terry Goodkind! Remember how I started the novel over again, well I finally passed the place I was at and I finally remember all that happened and it's getting really, really good! I'm on Page 188, Chapter 18. It's getting crazy now that a certain important character has been captured by unknown people and we don't know what the hell is going to happen but I will definitely read more tonight. I'm actually reading this novel pretty fast, or so I think. Maybe it's just because I haven't read in a while xD But hopefully I'll finish it really soon.

So that's all I'm reading so far and how far I am. Comment below with the novels you're waiting for to be released and I shall see you all tomorrow =D

Tyger Tyger Book Trailer

Hey guys so I'm back once again with some of the news I said I had. This one is actually something pretty cool. Kersten Hamilton sent me the book trailer for her novel Tyger Tyger. It's pretty awesome and I've seen it about like 5 times now haha.

So check it out here;

And you can buy the book here. So yes, check that out, buy the book, love the author! =D I'll see you guys soon once again.

Monday's Novel Talk (19)

So I have to start posting now that I'm basically on break. Just have to finish this paper, hand it in tomorrow and I'll be good! But yea, thank you followers for continuing to follow me and the new followers! So close to 300 which is epic! You know I love you all <3>

Naked Empire by Terry Goodkind I kind of restarted it. So far I'm on page 81 once again. I forgot exactly what happened previously so I had to start once more.

Frankenstein by Mary Shelley is horrible! Do not read it. It is boring and it's written too formal for my taste which is ridiculous. I'd rather read Bella Swan's thoughts. That's saying a lot.

The Exiled Queen by Cinda Williams Chima I'm around page 74. Giving it a rest and reading some books for review. As I have to review a couple so far. But the book is awesome. I liked the first one and so far this one I'm loving it.

I also finished Zan-Gah the first book and now I'm reading the second, Zan-Gah and the Beautiful Country by A.R. Shickman. I liked the first one, it was something different than what I usually read so it was good. I'll have a review up soon.

So yea basically just four books for now. Trying to get the smaller ones out of the way so that I can bring down the pile of books to read.

So keep an eye out for the next post. Sorry this is in a rush, I just have so much to do -passes out-.

I'm Alive!!!!

So I haven't posted since last Wednesday and I wonder why....

-flashback- Me walking down the street when I get shot like 20 times.......

Alright I'm absolutely kidding. I've just been extremely busy with homework. I have two papers due next week both around 10 pages each. One is on this famous New Jerseyan and the other is on the European Water Voyages to the New World! =O

So yea the history one sucks and I feel like I'm going to pass out with it. But the New Jerseyan I think I can do and I might finish it soon. Then I can finally come back to posting. =D

So yea I didn't abandon the blog or get shot or anything I've just been really busy and when it's done I'll be able to post everyday =D

See you guys soon and wish me luck!!!!

Guess That Novel (15)

Finally, another post from Guess That Novel! It's been what? 3 years? Phew, what a long time!

Anyway, we should get this done because I'm starving and have a lot of homework to do. =O Stupid homework! School is for dorks!

Anyway! On to the previous quote;

There was once a kindly old wizard who used his magic generously and wisely for the benefit of his neighbours. Rather than reveal the true source of his power, he pretended that his potions, charms and antidotes sprang ready-made from the little cauldron he called his lucky cooking pot. From miles around people came to him with their troubles, and the wizard was pleased to give his pot a stir and put things right.

The winner, who correctly guessed this novel, and the short story is Misha from My Love Affair With Books! Misha correctly guessed The Wizard and the Hopping Pot in The Tales of Beedle the Bard by J.K. Rowling. Congratulations! Everyone check out the blog and follow! I gave it a look (like a do with everyone's blogs) and it is truly awesome. So go ahead and check it out! But first we need this weeks quote.

Now, let me just try to find one...

Actually since I missed a quote from Halloween let me add a book that is connected to Halloween. It's not about Halloween but it's about a monster. RAWR!

The quote goes on and on but I cut it short there. So click on here to fill out the short form with the name of the author, the title of the novel, your name, and your blog link to promote on the next post. If you don't have a blog no worries. I'm actually thinking about a way to make this into a contest. Maybe in January I can make this a contest. And now that I think about it Ky from Can't Find a Bookmark (is it that?) did a contest with quotes. Hmm interesting.

But yea check back next week to see who got it right! And leave comments so I can feel loved!

Tuesday's Novel Spotlight (13)

Blah! It's Tuesday and I'm extremely tired! Perhaps it is because I woke up at 6 after falling asleep around 3. Only because I was reading. =D Plus I just want to sleep and GLEE is about to give! So I shall hurry with this.

This week's novel is Lodestone Book Two: The World of Ice and Stars by Mark Whiteway. I got the novel for review a while ago but with being busy and all have not read it yet. But I shall soon. So what is this about?

The desperate race to save a world continues! Washed up on a desolate shore on the far side of the world along with the Chandara, Boxx, Shann must try to uncover the truth about the fate of her companions, while searching for a vital artifact hidden by an ancient civilization.

There's a lot more to this novel. But you kind of have to read the first one first or else you will not understand it. On that note, check out the review I wrote for it.

And sorry that this is really short =( I'm just super tired and am about ready to knock out. Tomorrow it'll be longer. Promise.

Monday's Novel Talk (18)

Hey guys it is Monday! I still have homework to do but I'm taking some time off from that so that I can do todays post. So let's see what I have been reading.

Naked Empire by Terry Goodkind. No comment as you all know where I am at with that. =D

The Demon King by Cinda Williams Chima. Chapter 17, Page 298 out of 506. Oh Merlin, I thought there was about 300+ Chapters not 500+. -__- I really need to step it up. But I have read today and I will read some more today hopefully. It's getting really good so far! I'm more wrapped up in it than I was before in the beginning and interesting stuff is starting to happen. Like the magic <3

Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. I'm on Page 1, Letter I. I have to read up to Chapter 1 and there are 4 Letters before the Chapters, which are like Chapters themselves. Hopefully I'll go further than Chapter 1 tonight so that I can just relax and chill with it.

Since this is pretty short I have something to say. So my goal to get 300 Followers by the end of the year is almost complete. I just need 55 more followers =O Hopefully I can make it. Haha xD

Follow my The Subtle Chronicler Facebook Page. In other words, Like it.

Another thing, I take the bus to and from school. And from school I always see a couple of people reading. Something I never really saw before. It's just weird because before it was just me. And before it was only females. And I was just like O.o. But today there were like four other guys reading. And I felt so proud because I live in the ghetto so everyone is mostly all hood. So I was just proud of them and how they were all into the books. xD

My job to have more males reading is going great! =D So yea that's basically it until tomorrow. Short post I know but I need to get back to my massive amount of homework. ='( Bye you guys...

Never Go To College! -Or Do-

I am going crazy! I haven't been posting!!!! =(
My last midterm finally came and went so I'm done with those. But now I have so much homework and it's keeping me so busy from posting! Even from reading books which sucks.

Especially this week my professor's just went crazy with giving out homework. Shall we see what I have to do? Sure, why not.

Psychology: A paper where I have to write a paragraph for each term. (There's 10.)

Reading: Pages 267-268 do Exercise 3. 268-269 Read poem and answer questions. 277-284 Do all the work. Write about Prometheus. Read up to Chapter 1 on Frankenstein. And there's like 4 pre-chapters before Chapter1.

English: 10 page paper on a famous New Jerseyan. A rough draft due tomorrow about our eating habits.

History: 10 page paper on a History Topic. Mine is the European Water Voyages to the New World.

And yea, that's what I should be doing. I might just get Reading out of the way first. Or do the rough draft. Ugh!

But yea, hopefully I'll start posting again tomorrow on time. But if not, you guys can burn me at the stake. I give you permission.

But I haven't even read. I get home all tired from classes and so lazy that I end up not reading at all. I read on the bus, sometimes if I'm sitting down or by myself. Otherwise I don't even read there haha.

Monday's Novel Talk (17)

It's Monday once again! But this Monday is special since it is November. Halloween is over and Thanksgiving is just around the corner =D

So my important midterms are done. Psychology really was the only one I needed to study for and it turned out that no studying was really needed. I had my English today and my Reading I'll have on Thursday so I can post once again. Oh how I have missed posting!

So let's see.

Naked Empire by Terry Goodkind. Same spot, same place. I really have to start reading it and I have a plan which I'll talk about later.

The Demon King by Cinda Williams Chima. Chapter 13, page 238. I don't really know why I'm not exactly fully engrossed into this novel since I love it. I guess school is murdering me. -__-
But hopefully I'll get a bit further tonight since I have nothing to do but homework. Haha

I finished Dash & Lily's Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan. I loved it and the ending to me was perfect. The authors are amazing together and I'm hoping for more novels from them. They better. Or else.

Today I started reading Queen Victoria: Demon Hunter by A.E. Moorat and for some reason I didn't really get into it in the first three chapters. I actually quit in the middle of Chapter 3. It's just too rushed and it doesn't explain the characters as if we know who they are. Basically you should do some background check on Queen Victoria and King Henry before you read this book. I'll be putting it to the side for a while before I pick it back up.

Now my plan! I'll start with now. I should go take a shower but it's too cold for me to get naked. After that I'll do some homework for Psychology and then I'll read The Demon King. Now the plan from there is, I'll finish The Demon King before I start any other book. Once I finish The Demon King, I'll go back to reading Naked Empire in the day. That means if the sun is out I'll read it. At night when the sun goes down and the moon comes up I'll begin to read another book for review. To get those out of the way. Preferably I'll read the first two Zan-Gah books since they're 150 pages each. Big letters and really short. Get those out of the way and then go to The Riddler's Gift. I think that sounds good. And then I'll just take it from there. =D

So I'm glad to be back, hopefully I'll write some reviews for you guys and bam! Get back on track. So see you all tomorrow!

Why isn't he posting?!

Hey guys! I do apologize for not posting so far. I have midterms and I need to study and work my ass off so I can pass. So I don't think I'll be posting this week. My midterms are this Thursday, next Monday and next Thursday. So these two weeks I'll be studying. Well mostly this week since Psychology is first. The others are just writing so eh xD

But yea, hopefully I'll see you guys soon =D

In My Mailbox/Book Haul (6)

It's Monday! Funny thing, I started writing this yesterday but didn't finish it and had to go to the Muse Concert -which was AWESOME- and so I'm going to finish it now. =D. In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by The Story Siren where you basically show the books you got in the week so that people can see and join you in telling what they also got. It's not gloating more of having fun and interacting with others.

The Girl Who Played With Fire

I got the DVD with English Dubbed but have not seen The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo yet. Even though I do have it but I'm guessing I'll be seeing it some time this week.

Mikael Blomkvist, publisher of Millennium magazine, has made his living exposing the crooked and corrupt practices of establishment Swedish figures. So when a young journalist approaches him with a meticulously researched thesis about sex trafficking in Sweden and those in high office who abuse underage girls, Blomkvist immediately throws himself into the investigation.

I'm kind of in love with Emma Roberts. I don't know what it is but she's just pure awesome so I really want to see this movie also.

While Jo is chained down in a dead end supermarket job, her friends are all out on their own separate adventures: Cassandra is jetting off to New York to meet her internet boyfriend; Kerrys is on a one woman crusade fighting for female liberation and Shannon is on a one way trip to meet her maker. But a chance encounter with some diamond thieves sends their separate worlds on a collision course with not only each other, but fate itself. These 4 girls are about to have 3 days they will never forget, spanning across 2 cities. That is . . . if they survive.

I saw this book on someone's In My Mailbox a few weeks ago and decided to contact the author to see if I would be able to review it. I finally got a copy and the funny thing is that; because the book is about 600+ pages, they split it up into two different books. Both are titled the same except there's Part One and Part Two. Although I'm counting it as one book and will review it as one.

In the time when the world was ravaged by chaos, one kingdom remains; ordered, isolated, protected. Then Tabitha Serannon awakens an ancient power and the world begins to change. She is hunted for her talent. The path she follows leads to darkness; into terror, treachery, and desire. To survive she must give voice to a music she hardly understands, an enchantment that will echo through all time.

I was actually approached for this one and it's sequel and was asked if I would be able to review them. Of course I said yes and they're pretty short and look awesome enough =D
And I found out that they're signed and I was like wait whoa! Haha

Zan-Gah, seeking his lost twin brother in a savage prehistoric world, encounters adventure, suffering, conflict, captivity, and final victory. In three years hero passes from an uncertain boyhood to a tried and proven manhood and a position of leadership among his people. Themes include survival, brotherhood, cultures, gender roles, psychological trauma, and nature's wonders and terrors.

The prehistoric saga continues as Zan-Gah and his disturbed twin brother, Dael, come into conflict. When their clan migrates to a new Beautiful Country, Dael's furious violence, joined with the magnetic power of his personality, precipitates division and an unwanted, preventable war. Zan's task is to restrain his brother's destructive and self-destructive tendencies, leading him to peace and recovery in the bountiful new land. But it is not to be, despite Zan's efforts and those of two strong female characters. This book features themes of war and peace, tribal conflict, traumatic stress, gender roles, and sibling rivalry, bereavement, redemption.

I received this book from randombuzzers.com They do a giveaway each week and I won it! It's an ARC and will be released October 26th, 2010. So basically Tuesday. I love the authors, especially their book Nick & Norah's Infinite Playlist!

Lily has left a red notebook full of challenges on a favorite bookstore shelf, waiting for just the right guy to come along and accept its dares. But is Dash that right guy? Or are Dash & Lily only destined to trade dares, dreams, and desires in the notebook they pass back and forth at locations across New York? Could their in-person selves possibly connect as well as their notebook versions? Or will they be a comic mismatch of disastrous proportions?

My mom went to the dollar store near my house. And this dollar store is like one of the most fancy there is. They have everything for like rich people but at a dollar. Stuff you'd think were expensive but isn't. And they had books so my mom brought me two because they were a dollar each =D

Coe follows the Winds of the Forelands series with this absorbing trilogy opener set across the sea in the Southlands, where a mysterious plague is heightening tensions among three groups: the Qirsi, who wield life-draining magic; the Mettai, who cast spells with blood and earth; and the nonmagical Eandi. Decades earlier, the plague destroyed the Mettai villagers of Sentaya, leaving only young Lici alive. No one in Lici's adopted village of Kirayde realizes the depth of her mental scars until she disappears 64 years to the day after her arrival, intending to use blood magic to punish the Qirsi she feels were responsible for the plague. Fans will cheer on Forelands series hero Grinsa, a powerful but pacifist Qirsi, who ties the two series together as he strives to understand Lici's motivation and aims to find a peaceful resolution to the escalating Qirsi-Eandi strife that follows in her wake.

The other book my mother got me that was a buck. =D

Thanks to its elite Dragon Corps, the capital city of Volstov has all but won the hundred years' war with its neighboring enemy, the Ke-Han. The renegade airmen who fly the corps's mechanical, magic-fueled dragons are Volstov's greatest weapon. But now one of its more unruly members is at the center of the city's rumor mill, causing a distraction that may turn the tide of victory.

With Volstov immersed in a scandal that may have international repercussions, the Ke-Han devise an ingenious plan of attack. To counter the threat, four ill-assorted heroes must converge to save the kingdom they love: an exiled magician, a naive country boy, a young student - and the unpredictable ace airman who flies the city's fiercest dragon, Havemercy.

But on the eve of the battle, these courageous men will face something that could make the most formidable warriors hesitate, the most powerful of magicians weak, and the most unlikely of men allies in their quest to rise against it...

This one was also from randombuzzers.com And the funny story is; I had enough buzzbucks, which is in-site credit, to get Brisingr regular edition. But I wanted the Deluxe which was 30000 BB and I had 25000+. I would've waited to get more but I also needed to be a special rank. Figuring I wouldn't get that rank anytime soon I ordered regular Brisingr. The next day they made me the special rank. When I got the book it was the Deluxe Edition. Which was so epic lol. So thank you guys =D

Following the colossal battle against the Empire's warriors on the Burning Plains, Eragon and his dragon, Saphira, have narrowly escaped with their lives. Still, there is more at hand for the rider and his dragon, as Eragon finds himself bound by a tangle of promises he may not be able to keep.

First is Eragon's oath to his cousin Roran: to help rescue Roran's beloved from King Galbatorix's clutches. But Eragon owes his loyalty to others, too. The Varden are in desperate need of his talents and strength-as are the elves and dwarves. When unrest claims the rebels and danger strikes from every corner, Eragon must make choices-choices that take him across the Empire and beyond, choices that may lead to unimagined sacrifice.

One of the books my sister let me borrow. =D

Evil forces are after Morgan, forces connected with a dark wave of magick. And she knows something is wrong with the way Cal is acting, although she can't put her finger on it. Cal is definitely hiding something, but is he out to hurt her, as Hunter says?

The other book my sister let me borrow.

For now, Morgan is safe from the dark wave that has been attacking witches. Betrayed by her first love, she is trying to come to grips with her Woodbane heritage and with Wicca-its thorn and its rose.

So that was everything I got last week. Huge haul which brought up my To Be Read Pile. -_- I must now try to lower it again before it's up to 50. Dear Merlin haha. What did you guys get?
Leave a comment with a link to your post =D
