Guess That Novel (5)

I am not worthy! I am not worthy!

Sorry I have NOT been posting! Pretty much no excuse at all. Except a lot of distractions. Okay, maybe just one distraction =D

Oh the joy... Anyway last week was;

I thought it back. --- and I had only made it as far as Victoria's Secret. I'd spent thirty dollars on the lacy black bra, but I wasn't about to go there. Instead I related my evening, starting with sensing I was being followed, and ending with finding --- on the side of the road, the victim of a brutal mugging.

So the job was give the name of the title. With an option of giving the name of the person who's name was -'d.

The person who got the title right first was, Kelli, over at I'd So Rather Be Reading! And then SpunkiiReader who is a devoted follower and reader got the character of Vee correct. Thank you guys for answering.

Now for this week I have to see a book. I don't know which though, I'll find one. This one will be a bit tough but here's a clue; a movie.

He turned his back on their strained, incredulous faces. He knew it was the truth. It all made sense. [Character 1] was not seeking a new [object]; he as seeking an old [object], a very old [object] indeed. [Character 2] walked to the entrance of the tent, forgetting about [Character 2] and [Character 4] as he looked out into the night, thinking...

Now all you have to answer is the novel but if you want to take it further and have be add the link to your blog and give you a shout-out for a week in every one of my post, not only give out the book title, but give me the names for

Character 1
Object
Character 2
Character 3
Character 4

Hope you guys get it correct. And remember the clue is movie. Haha so see you guys soon as I found more things to post up. =D

Book Review: I Hope They Serve Beer In Hell

Sorry for the lack of posting! Friday was the Portugal game, and the two graduations, Saturday was the beach and the movies and Sunday I was in New York and then talking to someone. And today I forgot I had to post stuff up because I've been talking to someone non-stop for 12 hours at this time. =D Oh yea...

Anyway, here's a review. There is a warning, this is not for kids and what I talk about on this review does not even touch what's in this book haha.

Author: Tucker Max
Pages: 288
Rating: A for Acceptable
Review: Warning: Not suitable for kids.

You know that guy, the one who thinks he’s the shit? You know who I’m talking about. You always see him at a party or something talking to multiple girls. The one who will have a girlfriend yet bag another girl and start making plans with another. Well, guys like that piss me off. They give us good guys a bad name. But as I read this novel of short stories, I couldn’t help but to laugh at the scenarios this guy gets himself into. And his stupidity.

Tucker Max is, I guess it’s safe to say, a guy who is afraid of commitment. Here he is making a complete ass out of himself and not having a care in the world. It’s as if he can be the only douche bag. And for some reason, people love it. I can’t help but admit that I find it amusing.

Here’s this guy, asking his friend to hide in the closet and film him and a girl having sex. It turned out so ridiculously wrong and hilarious to the point that his house smelt like lube, vomit and crap for several weeks. He’s the guy that, after getting a blowjob, notices he left a skid mark on the perfect white couch of the girl and just flips the cushion over. Hoping that she never realizes. These are only the beginning of the other stories in this.

It makes me think how his life is today, after he published the book and all of these girls read it. How they must feel to be humiliated and used by this complete dumbass. I’m all for female power. No they shouldn’t have more power, but you know, equality and stuff. This guy just doesn’t give a shit and he’s making us good guys love it.

In the end, this book is about a guy who we hate, love and want to be in the end. The novel of a guy where girls used to love him but now despise him. And I’m afraid that after this got published, he hasn’t gotten any action. After all, guys have their needs. Some, different than others. But they're still needs.

So, yea this book is just badass but I friggen love it lol. And I just want to shout right now because I'm beyond happy! Wow this is amazing, but I can't say anything yet. xD

Tell me if you guys have read the book or seen the movie. And your thoughts too! See you guys later. =D

Unity!

Portugal and Brazil tied 0-0! Meaning both Portugal and Brazil made it to the next round. Which means Portugal and Brazil get to party! AND PARTY WE DID!

Here we are thinking Brazilians would talk crap to us. Yet here they are cheering and celebrating with us! Portuguese and Brazilians changing shirts and flags! Partying together side by side, hand in hand, arm in arm.

Mind you, Portuguese and Brazilians down here barely get along. And when you see both of us partying it is the best thing in the world. To hear the Brazilians shouting "PORTUGAL!" and the Portuguese shouting "BRAZIL" was the best moment of everyones lives.

This is what we were all talking about and what everyone said.

Deep down, we are all family. We all speak the same language and basically have the same cultures with different styles. We are all brothers and sisters. We have to be unified to bring the world closer.

And when you get a mile long street, full of Portuguese and Brazilians, celebrating, blocking traffic to the point that the streets are closed down, that is unification. I just want to say I was proud to touch both of our flags at the same time. And I was looking for that one Brazilian flag to rock.

And you know it's amazing when the Brazilians who are so cocky and think they are the best, applaud us and say, "Here's for both of us in the final game. We will see you there."

I applaud both Portuguese and Brazilians for taking their differences aside and coming together as one. This is what the world is about.

On another note, right after partying I had two graduations and just got home since 7. Tomorrow is beach time and Sunday is New York so very little posting. I'll try to put up a review on Sunday when I get back from New York. I know I've been slipping but I've been so busy with events and the World Cup and just other things. But I'll get back up.

On another note, Tuesday, you might not hear me again because Portugal versus Spain and yea! We need to make it to the finale with Brazil.

I'll leave you guys on that note.

Guess That Novel (4)

Sorry I did not post yesterday! I apologize just please do not stone me! I'm not a wizard!

<<
>>

Anywho, I had a graduation yesterday and woke up at 6 in the morning and didn't get back until 11 at night or so.

So let's start off with last week's.

Frizz cleared his throat. "This probably isn't the best time to worry about face ranks, Hiro."
"This isn't about face ranks, you bubblehead!"
"Technically speaking, I'm not a bubblehead," Frizz said calmly.

Now right off the bat, someone answered, because they love stalking my blog. Lol, I KID I KID!

That person was Ky!!!! She actually doubted herself a bit. But hey, she still got it right. xD

Follow her over at, http://findabookmark.blogspot.com/ or else she will find you! Trust me, she can do that. O.o

Kelli, over at I'd So Rather Be Reading, also answered but a later than Ky. You might as well follow her but I can not put up a link. Why? The forces don't let me. ='(
And if you can see by the comments in last week's guess that novel, you see we had a discussion of my childhood. Yea....

Anyway! Let's get to this weeks!

I thought back. --- and I had only made it as far as Victoria's Secret. I'd spent thirty dollars on the lacy black bra, but I wasn't about to go there. Instead I related my evening, starting with sensing I was being followed, and ending with finding --- on the side of the road, the victim of a brutal mugging.

Your job? Just tell me the name of the novel. But, here's the deal. If someone answers with just the novel the next person to answer has a chance to get their link up on the post too by not only answering the novel, but by answering who --- is. Remember each - stands for 1 letter. So there can be two featured blogs.

So let's get to it. And remember I might make a contest of this somehow. How? I don't know yet lol.

Book Review: Bridge to Terabithia

This is the other book that I mention in my The Lovely Bones review about hearing it because of the movie.

Like the one before, this is also short because it was one of the first reviews I have written "professionally". So, um, here we go!

Author: Katherine Paterson
Pages: 128
Rating: E for Exceeds Expectations
Review: Remember when we were little kids, and we always played games with our friends that most of the time involved our imagination? How we created worlds that only our most trusted best friends could see? How in our world, we had everything we imagined? How in our world, everything was innocent and pure? How in our world, we never thought that one day, life would take over and destroy our it?

Bridge to Terabithia, is that world. The world we dream of when we sleep. Don’t you ever miss that world?

Bridge to Terabithia starts off with a boy named Jess, who’s a middle schooler that acts like most teenagers today. In his eyes, his life sucks. That is, unless it’s the annual school race where he decides that he will win in first place. And win he almost does. That is, until someone beats him. A girl by the name of Leslie Burke. This girl beat all the boys in the race and back then and even today, when you’re a little kid, being beaten by girls is not okay. After all, they do have cooties…

The story goes on and Jess and Leslie become the best of friends, and eventually, as all kids, create their perfect world. Terabithia. To get into Terabithia, you have to cross this creek by swinging on a rope. But in their minds, it’s a magnificent bridge. They have battles and wars, party’s and everything else there is to do. Outside of Terabithia, no one else knows about it.

Jess starts to think that his life is getting better and Leslie is living life as free-spirited as she can with her family. Something Jess wish he had. In his eyes, she has everything he doesn’t. So when his teacher invites him on a trip, he doesn’t invite Leslie along, as he was told to. Instead, he makes an excuse that she can’t go. That night, everything changed. Fatally.

In Jess’ mind, Terabithia still lives, as he shares the secret along with his younger sister. In his mind, Terabithia still includes Leslie.

I remember I first read this for my Sophmore year of High School right at the end for extra credit. Lol, I passed the class, woot! And I loved it! And the movie is also amazing. So check both of them out! Tell me your thoughts on the review, the novel and/or the movie if you've seen/ready it.

Monday's Novel Talk (3)

Hello my fellow bloggers. It is Monday and I am actually posting up today's correct post! Haha yea, I have no idea what I'm doing. I'm so tired! I just want to sleep but I just got my laptop and everything that's good keeps happening to me.

Still can't get a girlfriend....

Oh God! I seem like a desperate needy little boy. Anyway I'm not! Lol. I'm seeing relationships forming and falling and yea I haven't had a girlfriend since like, yesterday, and as Justin Bieber said, "I JUST NEED SOMEBODY TO LOVE!!!!" Lol I'm such a weird man.

Anyway, going on to what I do best, here comes today's novel talk.

So I'm almost done with Lodestone Book One: The Sea of Storms by Mark Whiteway and I might just go out and buy a copy to give away in a contest. I want someone else to enjoy it as much as I am. I'm currently on page 213 of 278. Unlike the other novel I was reading with this,

-camera shoots to Naked Empire by Terry Goodkind which is still on page 9, Chapter 2-

I have actually made progress. It is going crazy. I just found out because I re-read the beginning that the supposed "sixth" character by the name of Kal is actually some dude from back in the time. Hence why he was in the Prologue and not the main story. Fail Mr. Michael, Fail.

-camera shoots to page 9, Chapter 2- -awkward silence-

Anyway, on Sunday I bought a book. I didn't do an in my mailbox so I will be doing one this Sunday with what I got last week and this week. Which has been great this week already.

Anyway I got -camera shows page 9, chapter 2- Okay seriously?! Like I was saying, I got The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner by Stephenie Meyer. I must say and dear Merlin help me as I say this. I'm enjoying it. =O Oh dear Nargles! Yea, the characters are much more bearable. They have substance although not much. There's no mushy stalker love going on. And we finally get to see the evil vampires Point of -page 9, chapter 2- .... view.

So yea, expect a review on that. So this is basically it for today's novel talk. Short I know but it's nice and sweet. Plus I'm almost done with one and the other is short so I figured you guys would wait for the review.

Anyway -page 9- I SWEAR! I dare you to finish it. Go ahead! Show chapter 2. Watch what's going to happen to you, you little -chapter 2-

........

Author Spotlight (2) Top 5 Favorites - #4

This week I'll be continuing with my Top 5 Favorite Authors, and from what I posted last week, so far they are;

  1. ----
  2. ----
  3. ----
  4. ----
  5. Cinda Williams Chima

Scott Westerfeld is a southern man at heart, being born in Texas. He started writing Science Fiction for Adults with 1997 being his first published year. He also worked as a ghost writer during 1997-2003 writing five Goosebumps, three Power Puff Girls, and one legal thriller of which he says he can't talk about. In 2004, he turned over to Young Adult (lucky us!) and has produced over 10 novels to date.

Now the only novels I have read by Scott Westerfeld were Uglies Trilogy +1 and a Guide. That's what I like to call them. I know again how can he be my favorite author if I haven't read most of his work? Well because I'm so cool that I can do that! Haha, I'm just kidding.

I have his other novels on my list of books to buy which is over 300 books. But that's not the point.

I don't remember exactly when I read Uglies Trilogy +1. I do know that I bought the Trilogy box set and alongwith Extras in hardcover.

I do know that I was in Highschool and it must've been around my Freshman to Sophmore year. Somewhere around there. So I read them and I was in love with the whole thing. It was my first dystopian novel that I had ever read and I didn't even know it until a year or so ago. The whole idea of having operations to change who you are was really fascinating me. And how in Extras people were getting like ruby eyes and clocks in their eyes and extra arms and legs and different color skin and manga eyes. All crazy.

But I seriously want to read his other work. Peeps and Leviathan. It all seems epic! He's just one of those authors who is beyond epic just because. And his wife's work, Justine Larbalestier, also seems fantastic so check her out.

So if you haven't heard of Scott Westerfeld, please go read his work now! If not then we have a problem.

Here's a list of his works with links to his novels on barnesandnoble.com where you can buy them.

Succession
Midnighters
Leviathan
Stand-Alone Books
So I just noticed that I first read Uglies Trilogy +1 my Sophmore year. =D
Woot for remembering!

So yea check out his work! Or else! But really, please do.

Update: Here's his website. http://scottwesterfeld.com/blog/

Today is all about celebration!

Portugal beat North Korea 7-0 making it a new record for this world cup!!!!

And of course most of the Brazilians down here are hating saying that North Korea was a sucky team. Um, do you guys remember how you struggled to get that 2-1 score and we got 7-0? No well just reminding you then.

Anyway I cried with joy when we kept scoring and went out to party. The street was blocked off. I mean almost a mile long street cut out from everything because Portuguese were partying!!!!

It's amazing! I'm in love. And Friday is going to be the end of all ends. Portugal against Brazil. There will be a war. It's going to be crazy so I might not be able to respond to you guys at all that day lol.

Oh and my laptop charger came in and that's what I'm on so be prepared for all the posts.

7 FRIGGEN 0! Unbelievable. Scored by 6 different players. Omg they literally kept coming in one after the other. Ugh, this made waking up at 7 and having this killer headache totally worth it! Friday will be crazy can't wait for it.

So yea guys be prepared for my posts that I'll be putting up.

And 97 followers! LOVING YOU ALL!!!!

Twilight: What it should have been

So I was talking to my friend about twilight and stuff and I gave her my version of how it should have been.

Bella would be a newborn. Ravenous, thirsty. Her throat aching and burning for the sweet, bitter blood that makes her smile with relief. She has her power of being immune to any other power. Including the Volturi. In comes James, Laurent and Victoria. They go into Forks and see Bella. Only James is foolish enough to go after her. Why? We'd soon find out. Bella runs away from James in a great chase and finds herself at a glass house full of Vampires. In comes Edward and drives James away. Bella notices their eyes. Different then the blood red. They're gold. She finds out they don't attack humans, yet it's all she thinks about.

Carlisle helps her by bringing human blood from the hospital. For some reason they've kept her. They all know who she is. Vampires want to control Bella Swan, to take down the Volturi and start spreading the vampire population and get rid of humans. Bella quickly see's that this would end horribly. No humans means no blood. A war between their kind would erupt. Plus Bella doesn't want to be controlled.

James kidnaps her mom and she goes to save her but it's a trap. Edward comes in, helps her and kills James.

In New Moon, Bella feels like she's putting the Cullens in danger and knows that they want to be left alone. So she runs away. In comes Jacob, this weird boy who she feels a connection with. Yet she can barely be near him. The smell of dog bothers her. But she fights it, a friendship that'll last. In comes Laurent going after Bella. Jacob and crew help her and kill him. (In this Bella and Jacob do it. While he's human ya nasties. Because in this they're 18.) Edward meets Bella and convinces her to go back. Jacob tells her to go and she does.

Eclipse. Victoria isn't bothering going after Bella just yet. She's creating an army first, take down the Cullens and Wolf Pack, kidnap Bella then go for the Volturi. Victoria with a group of her best vampires go to Forks and cause a battle in the middle of it, Cullens, Bella and Wolf Pack team together to help kill the army. Cullens are hurt, one Wolf down, Jessica, Bella's friend is dead. The others find out who she really is and about the Cullens and Wolf Pack.

Volturi find out about the battle and want to kill the Cullens, Wolf Pack and Victoria. Bella asks her father and friends and their family to leave town.

Breaking Dawn, the volturi are gatherin their best. Attacking every vampire they see. Restarting their population. Cullens are collecting friends and family to create their own army to stop the Volturi and take them down. Victoria is gatherin up another army, quicker and fuller than before. A new wolf is introduced to the Cullens and wolf pack. But only as a wolf. It's another female.

It all comes down to a 3 sided war. Literally. The three meet up in the middle of Forks which has been attacked and destroyed. People dead and gone. The Cullens attempt to talk it out. Violence won't solve anything. Victoria and her army attack. Cullens see this as a chance. The volturi are all killed along with Victoria's army. Bella kills Victoria and burns her. Jacob is in critical condition. The newest female turns back into human and it's Angela. Bella's friend. Rosalie too is in critical condition. They soon heal and all is good.

Cullens and Wolf Pack are together, gathering their respective newborns. Bringing them in and teaching them how to control themselves. They are the new leaders, creating a world between children of the night, children of the moon and children of the earth.

And somewhere along all of that Bella and Edward start to kick it off. =D

So yea I'd rather read that. There's no sparkling in the sun. Bella isn't whiny and has character. Edward is protective like every guy is to a girl nothing crazy. Yea. SMeyer I'll let you use those ideas. =D

I'm running out of titles

So today is Sunday! Happy Fathers Day to all you Fathers out there!

I was going to do an In My Mailbox but um, yea the lack of laptop isn't working out. =D
So I'll do it when I get it.

So anyway, tomorrow will be the day that decides if I ever come online again. Portugal is playing its second game, and then they'll play Brazil on Friday. I might cry if they lose. Actually I will cry. It'll be depressing.

I might commit like internet prevention. Actually no lol. I'll come on for sure. Just be sad and my posts will show my tears of pain.

Yes. World Cup Soccer is that serious. Portugal has to make it out of the first rounds at least!

So to anyone out there following the World Cup, not to be mistaken for the Quidditch World Cup, and you are all rooting for your own team, I'm sorry but, YOU'RE GOING DOWN! xD

I love a friendly rivalry...

Anyway, yea I'll be posting up little notes like this but nothing official. I'll post something up about Portugal tomorrow too. Tell you all how I feel and stuff.

VIVA PORTUGAL!!!!!! Haha I had to. Sorry.

-runs away now flailing arms like a muppet- (haha Maureen Johnson refrence)

A Message To My Followers

Hello people! =D

I just wanted to thank each and everyone of you for following me. I am in shock that I have 89 followers so far and 2 days ago I only had 37. I also hear from my friends how hard it was for them to get 50 so this makes me very grateful that I got all of you to follow me in such a short amount of time.

I post up everything for you guys. For your entertainment and for mine so again I'm just happy you guys are actually following me.

I do, again, apologize for the lack of posting but like I have said before, my laptop charger broke and I'm getting the new one on the 23rd. So on the 23rd and 24th, expect a mass amount of posts. Okay, not a MASS but more than usual. Double the posts. Something along those lines.

I'll also do another contest post to remind you all of the rules and stuff. I've been thinking over on how many winners I should add per followers so right now there are 3 for sure. And I know that I said at 100 or 125 I'll add the 4th but that's not set in stone. There will be chances to add more winners but right now I do not know. I'll post about that on my laptop.

So again thank you and I'll see you all again on my laptop soon. =D

Thursday, June 17, 2010

Finally!

I'm getting a new charger! This will be my 3rd one! grrr But I should be recieving it by the 23rd so next week until Friday. Now some things I won't be able to post up.

Like tomorrow's review. I do deeply apologize for that. It pains me also knowing that a new review won't be up! -cries- But I'll put two up next week. One in the morning and one in the afternoon. Or I'll put one up when I get my charger. Ah we'll see when I'll put it up. =D

I'm trying to gather the courage to save a picture on this computer to do my post. It's Thursday which means Author Spotlight which means Number 4 of my Top 5 Favorite Authors. I'll try but I can't promise anything.

Also! I got 80 followers!!!!! You guys do not know how excited and grateful I am that 80 people are following my blog! I just want to thank you all! It's crazy. I feel like I can walk down the red carpet.

I know, I know. some people have like 46545 followers but 80?! Come ON! That has GOT to be like 70 more followers than Perez Hilton! (Haha I made a funny). Yet sadly, it's true =P

But yea, at this rate I might have to change the number of winners again. Making it 125 instead of 100 and then 225 and on. I'd love to give a lot of winners people, but the money! I'm currently unemployed, my city is like a nojobzone but when I get a job I'll have money coming out of my pockets and I'll do a lot more giveaways and stuff. =D

So yea, let's see if I can do Thursday's post. See ya!

An Announcement

First off! Thank you to the 75 followers and the many people who have entered my contest! I feel really proud and special and would like to thank you all for making me happy!
Because there is 75 people, a 3rd winner has been added. I'm changing it up a bit and the 4th winner will be added at 100 followers!
So again thank you all for following me =D

Second, my laptop charger just died on me. This is the second one and the second time it does this. I might have to go kick ass to get a new one or something. Unfortunately I'm back on my computer so I might not be able to post the Author Spotlight today. If it doesn't work tomorrow either, I won't be able to put up my review seeing as the reviews are on my laptop.

I hate how things happen right when I have stuff to do. It just pisses me off.

But aside from that, again, thank you all for following me! You guys are awesome!

Guess That Novel (3)

Starting off with last week's quote;

"Where's your family?"
"My parents took the twins to a birthday party in Port Angeles. I can't believe you're really going to help me with this. Ben's pretending he has tendonitis." She mad a face.

So the task was the guess that novel, which two people got it right and one actually giving out who said it.

Andrea from Loud Words & Sounds was the first to guess that the novel was Eclipse!

Yet SpunkiiReader took it a step further by guessing that the person who said it was Angela.

Both were correct and although SpunkiiReader doesn't have a blog she's still mentioned. But congratulations you two and good try to the others!

Now for this weeks let's do this! This one will be a bit easier, or so I hope. I'm trying to get one where everyone knows the answer so that I can see who answers first. And remember even if someone has answered and you know they're right, still answer. It's fun =D

Frizz cleared his throat. "This probably isn't the best time to worry about face ranks, Hiro."
"This isn't about face ranks, you bubblehead!"
"Technically speaking, I'm not a bubblehead, Frizz said calmly.

So like I said, this one should be a bit easy and all you have to do is leave a comment with the answer to which novel is this. We'll see who gets the right answer next week.

A New Challenge

So I usually like to see how many pages I have read in total once I finish a novel or two. And everyone is doing these reading challenges like read 50 novels or such. Well I want to do a read 30,000 pages. For now! Because if I reach it, I'll add up and make it 40,000 then 50,000. Well, you get the idea.

So far the number of pages I have read is..... HA! I won't tell you yet. Let's first list all the books I have read this year and the number of pages.

  1. The Lovely Bones - 372 Pages
  2. Incarceron - 442 Pages
  3. The Hunger Games - 374 Pages
  4. Catching Fire - 391 Pages
  5. Bogus to Bubbly - 196 Pages
  6. Wizard's First Rule - 836 Pages
  7. Stone of Tears - 979 Pages
  8. Blood of the Fold - 623 Pages
  9. Temple of the Winds - 822 Pages
  10. Soul of the Fire - 788 Pages
  11. Faith of the Fallen - 785 Pages
  12. The Pillars of Creation - 725 Pages
  13. The Girl on the Dock - 132 Pages
Now, yea I only read 13 books this year so far! So what, you guys see numbers 6-12? Well yea! They're huge ass books. I mean yea there's like a gagillion pages. But the text is super small. I'm telling you! If the text was like Harry Potter or Twilight text, it would be double the pages. That's why I've only read 13 novels so far. They're part of The Sword of Truth Series by Terry Goodkind. I'm reading number seven and have four left and one to buy and another being released next year.

Anyway, hopefully when I finish them I'll get to other books and read much faster. But with those pages up top, I have currently read 12,500 Pages! Not bad, not bad. I'll update monthly and you can see the progress bar on the side. Note how there's another one there for writing. That's for my novel. I'll talk about that later on =D

Well yea, hopefully I'll reach my goal of 30,000 pages and then go on to 50,000!

So I'll see you all later today! xD

Tuesday's Novel Spotlight (2)

Welcome to this weeks edition of Tuesday's Novel Spotlight, I'm your host Michael Araujo and today we'll be talking about beauty, technology and the world of Uglies. -queue theme music-

Now most of you may already know about this novel and have already read the whole series. But for the select few, you just have to go out now and buy it.

Uglies is set in the future of the world where a chemical took over and killed off most of the humans from the face of this Earth. To help recuperate, officials began to create a system that would be the end of war and hatred and jealousy by making everyone equal. Thus at the age of 16, everyone goes through an operation that will make you the perfect person there is.

Now Tally Youngblood is finally turning 16. Her best friend is already a Pretty and she can not wait until she's with him. Until she meets a girl by the name of Shay who wants nothing but to remain ugly. And damn that Shay, because of her , Tally is contacted by those officials who say that if she can't get Shay to get the surgery, neither can Tally.

The book is full of twists and turns that lead to more twists and turns and a couple of cliffhangers.

I first read this novel in Highschool. I would have to say probably my freshman year. I'm not too sure now. All I remember is that I went to Barnes and Noble, found the books and bought them. I devoured the books in a week or so and was instantly in love with them. Oh and Extras was already out. I could see what year but I'm kind of lazy right now. =D

Now there is some speculation about the movie. The movie is supposed to come out but no official cast news or script news or any type of news is out yet. All we know is that it has been bought to become a movie. And I will be one of the first in line to watch it.

Anyway, the world of Uglies is just amazing. The whole operation thing is, to me a good idea to a certain extent. The characters are all fresh and three dimensional. The writing is new, it's young, it's today. New words are introduced that just roll off the tip of your tongue. Words that stick to your head and before you know it, you're calling things Bogus and Bubbly.

Scott Westerfeld certainly knows how to write. And I'm hoping that his talents are equal to his other novels which I have to write.

If you'd like to know more about Uglies just keep reading for the synopsis.

Tally is about to turn sixteen, and she can't wait. Not for her license - for turning pretty. In Tally's world, your sixteenth birthday brings an operation that turns you from a repellent ugly into a stunningly attractive pretty and catapults you into a high-tech paradise where your only job is to have a really good time. In just a few weeks Tally will be there.

But Tally's new friend Shay isn't sure she wants to be pretty. She'd rather risk her life on the outside. When Shay runs away, Tally learns about a whole new side of the pretty world - and it isn't very pretty. The authorities offer Tally the worst choice she can imagine: find her friend and turn her in, or never turn pretty at all. The choice Tally makes changes her world forever.

Now I'm kind of pro-operation. I mean it would be nice for everyone to get turned into a superhuman with the beauty of an Abercrombie & Fitch model. (Veronica is pretty jealous that I already have that =P ) -shows spray on abs-
I mean let's not turn out like Heidi Montag. She's just.... eek.
But it's free, it's safe, at least in their world, and it makes it so that no one can make fun of each other. I'd say that's a pretty epic deal.

So have you read the novel? Your thoughts. Will you see the movie when it is finally released?

Well until next time folks! Remember, I'm Michael Araujo! See ya!
