New Years Is So Close!

Hey guys! Like I said I wasn't going to update with the regular posts these past two weeks. New Years Eve is already tomorrow and that's so crazy! A brand new year! Finally! =P

Anyway, I've read my last book of the year today. I finished, The Exiled Queen by Cinda Williams Chima! It was good and so epic, I can not wait for book 3. The next time I'll read will be on Saturday that way I can start over fresh and new.

I have some posts coming up about 2010. Like the books I've read this year and how many pages I've read. My Top 10 favorite books/series of the year, in no particular order.

I will be taking the Book Challenge of reading 50 books. I have about 50 books on my to be read pile at this moment because of Christmas and I'm still waiting for another book. Not to mention the sequels =O

About the 300 followers before New Years, screw it! I have 280, 279 now, and I'm so grateful for that! That is more than I can ask! It hasn't even been a year for my blog and I have close to 300 followers! I want to thank you all and let you all know that I love you all so much for following!

2011 will be the year of new things and change. Be expecting more book giveaways (with books going out on time.) More reviews, possibly more author interviews! And I will also want to change the layout to make it more me. Just gotta find out how =P

So yes, thank you all for following, I hope you all have a happy and very successful new year. And to the other bloggers out there, may we get hundreds of followers and show everyone how reading books is beyond amazing!

Happy Christmas Eve Eve

Hey Followers! No, not followers, friends, family. It's Christmas Eve Eve! I can not wait until tomorrow to eat food and then it's midnight and then presents! It's funny because half of the things I got are books. Okay, they're all books and stuff! But I received books from two giveaways and wrapped them. And I bought Nightshade just a while ago and wrapped it up to, from Santa. It's just awesome, at this rate I'll need another bookcase. Well I already do but still haha.

Anyway, like I said, I don't have anything scheduled to post so I'm just writing jibberish here. Tomorrow I'll wish you all a Christmas Eve. But for today, Happy Christmas Eve Eve! Hope you guys are all safe and healthy and just plain out epic!

So I'll see you all tomorrow <3

Night Angel Trilogy Movie

So I haven't officially started reading them yet. >.> I have the first one, and thanks to a certain Santa Clause (waves to person who knows who they are) I now have the second and third, although I won't open them up until Christmas! By Christmas I mean, wait all Christmas Eve and then as European tradition has it, open the presents at midnight!

But the books seem really awesome and from what I hear, they're one of the best trilogies out there. The covers do look freaking intense and I haven't read any assassin novels yet. So perhaps this will show me the light to the assassin world? But anyway, as with epic novels, epic movies are also made. I just found out that the rights to The Night Angel Trilogy by Brent Weeks has been sold to none other than Cam Gigandet. To those of you who do not know him, he played James, the blonde pony-tailed vampire in the Twilight movie. Yes, weird, they sold the rights to the movie to the actor. But he will produce it along with his agency, William Morris Endeavor.

One thing I'm hoping is, they make all three movies. If they can make all three movies, we can see something amazing here. I know I haven't read the novels and watch me end up hating them (not likely) but assassin movies are just pure epicness! This movie could be a hit with the trilogy. If they do it right and don't try to cheese it up for teenagers. Seriously?! They better not! I know I might be late with the news, unless you guys haven't heard about it, then in that case is it brand new news <.<

>.> THANKS KY MUCH LOVE <3

And when I say next year, it's because I'm trying to finish The Exiled Queen by Cinda Williams Chima before the year ends, so that I can start fresh next year.

By the way, I know I haven't posted since last week, but I um kinda forgot and been too lazy. Saturday I went to New York City to see the tree. It was anti-climatic, but I went to times square and that was fun! Sunday I went Christmas shopping. Monday I did nothing I think. Tuesday (today) I did nothing and decorated this one place I ran track for. And when I say nothing I mean nothing with a side of catching up on shows and reading in-between! So yea, hopefully tomorrow I'll post. I might pass on the weekly meme's this week and next week and just post stuff up since it's the Holidays! So I hope everyone is safe and is doing good! I'll be sure to post tomorrow with something!

Guess That Novel (18)

Hello my fellow followers! It is Wednesday which means, GUESS THAT NOVEL!

So I'm over here watching The Vampire Diaries. But I remember I stopped at a certain episode and need to watch the rest before new episodes come back in January. I also have to watch the rest of Merlin Season 3 and the other episodes of Hellcats I've been missing out. Luckily my last final is tomorrow so I can just finish and then watch the episodes and read all I want =D

Now let's see last week's quote;

The elf woman glanced at her forge in the center of the atrium, then clapped her hands together, her eyes lighting up with a combination of eagerness and determination. "Let us to it, then!"

The first person that got it actually got it correct! That person is; Onge! Unfortunately they don't have a blog, at least they didn't add their blog link. But they guessed Brisingr by Christopher Paolini! But let us get another quote for this week! =D

So I can't believe I'm gonna use this book but I just saw a commercial on t.v. and the quote just made me really lazy enough to put it up.

"I'm gonna keep fighting for you until your heart stops beating."

I swear someone better get it because it hurt me to even type it out. So yea, all you have to do is click the link here and then fill out the form. Add your blog link also if you want people to check you out. And next week I shall see you with the answer!

Tuesday's Novel Spotlight (16)

So my blog feed has this book cover everywhere! Every single blogger, (or most of us) is posting up this book cover because it was just released today. I could've put it up earlier but I had to write a paper for a final that I finished today. One more final left! Woot Woot!

Anyway! City of Fallen Angels is this week's Novel. Why? Because the cover has been released and the series is just freaking awesome! I can not wait to add it to my bookshelf. I just have to make some room for it mwuahahaha. Anyway, if you've ready The Mortal Instruments' first three books then you know how City of Glass ended epically. But now the story continues.

Someone has been killing the Shadowhunters who used to be in Valentine's Circle and leaving their bodies around New York City in a manner designed to provoke hostility between Downworlders and Shadowhunters. Internecine warfare among vampires is ripping the Downworld community apart, and only Simon - the Daylighter who everyone wants on their side - can decide the outcome; too bad he wants nothing to do with Downworld politics. Meanwhile, Jace and Clary investigate a mystery that has deeply personal consequences for them - consequences that may strengthen their relationship, or rip it apart forever. Love, blood, betrayal and revenge: the stakes are higher than ever in City of Fallen Angels.

Now I just can't wait to read it! Be sure to keep a look out for this book and tell me down below in the comments if you're excited to read this!

Monday's Novel Talk (22)

So I'll be doing this quick so that I can read a bit before going to bed. Tomorrow is one of my last few days of Psychology, Reading and History! YAY! Although I will miss my Psychology class ='(

But let's do this!

The Exiled Queen by Cinda Williams Chima same as last week.

Naked Empire by Terry Goodkind. I'm on Page 591. If I read 100 pages tonight I'll have only 25 left to read tomorrow. Or if I'm badass enough I'll stay up a bit later to read it. So sorry this is really really short but it's almost 11 and I just came out of the shower too. =P

So I'll see you all tomorrow!

In My Mailbox/Book Haul (8)

Hello guys and girls! It is Monday and I was basically not here this whole weekend so I didn't post. And I'd just like to say that this week is my last week of the semester and I have finals and then I'll be free! So I'm doing yesterday In My Mailbox post. In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by the beloved, The Story Siren. In My Mailbox allows you to show everyone and share the books you got that week. I, myself, add movies also since I get a few each week. So this week wasn't anything big. Just two movies and a book I've been wanting. So let's see what I got. =D

Skyline

My dad got this not knowing I wanted it. This is one of the two alien movies I really want to see, the other being Battle: Los Angeles. They are both crazy good looking!

Strange lights descend on the city of Los Angeles, drawing people outside like moths to a flame where an extraterrestrial force threatens to swallow the entire human population off the face of the Earth.

Not really something I would watch but I'll give it a try.

Doug MacRay (Ben Affleck) was born and raised in Charlestown, a blue-collar neighborhood in Boston, where crime is a part of life. Charlestown is the world's capital for carjacking, kidnappings, and armed robberies. The tricks of the criminal trade are passed down from father to son. Doug is the brains and ruthless leader of a gang of bank robbers who have been able to get out clean after each bank robbery. But Doug knows that his luck will not last forever, and he is looking for one last big heist that will give him the chance to leave the town in his rear-view mirror. But no one will let him, especially, his right-hand man "Jem" James Coughlin (Jeremy Renner); because he believes that it would be a personal betrayal to him, and he is not going to allow that. In a recent bank job, Doug forced the bank manager Claire (Rebecca Hall) to open the safe, and then took her hostage as leverage for the getaway, and eventually setting her free unharmed. Doug knows that he should leave Claire alone, but she only lives four blocks from him, and he can handle it, but he begins to fall for her. Their romantic involvement is about to take them down a perilous path.
The one book that I've been wanting for a while and I finally got it yesterday! Woot Woot!

Feisty Nora Grey somehow survived the crisis of Hush, Hush!, but dangers just as frightening loom in this standalone sequel. Patch, her guardian angel and love interest, appears to have a dark side and a wandering eye. Worse yet, he seems intent on obstructing Nora as she hunts for the truth behind her father's mysterious death.

So that's all I got last week. Hopefully this week will be just as good. So what did you get?

Incarceron Leading Role Actor Revealed

Now must of you all know about Incarceron and are patiently waiting for Sapphique which is due this month! But some news has just come for the Incarceron Movie on who will play the leading role.

That person is none other than Taylor Lautner! -_-

Is it me or is the worst choice for the role? I always imagine Finn, the main character, as some sort of athletic but not too buff type of guy. Like, pale complexion, since they get no sun. And overall not Taylor Lautner. But I guess they want known people in the movie to attract viewers. I'd rather they cast a nobody and get him as the character, than casting someone famous just for their experience and viewers.

I swear if I hear raging teenagers going off about this book as if they know it like no one else, I'm putting them into Incarceron. I don't know why I'm so affected by this choice because I never really care and am always happy with choices. It's just that he's the complete opposite of what I imagined but I guess I'll see how he does. Hopefully he'll do really good and prove me wrong!

For those of you who don't know who Taylor Lautner is, http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1210124/ check him out there. Tell me what you guys think in the comments below. I know a lot of people have a lot to say.

Guess That Novel (17)

Hey guys! It's Thursday! And I have no more classes until Monday! YAY! I can just stay home, finish these papers, read and watch movies. The joy! (not even being sarcastic this time...) So I'm trying to get this post out of the way so let's get to it.

The quote from last week was;

Make your choice, adventurous Stranger;
Strike the bell and bide the danger,
Or wonder, till it drives you mad,
What would have followed if you had.

Now I know this one is more difficult than the previous others because it's a small poem from the book but someone got it correct!

Congratulations to... La Coccinelle from The Lady Bug Reads! She answered The Magician's Nephew by C.S. Lewis and got it correct! Wooooo! Check out her blog! She currently, at this moment, has 241 followers. Let's at least help her get up to 300 by the end of this year. Read her posts and leave her comments with love!

Now for this week's quote, as always, I have to look for a book first and then choose a quote... So this might take a while... -zips away-

This is literally an hour later as I forgot to come back -__-

-zips back-

I GOT ONE! Kinda. I really didn't look for one lol. But here we go I got one!

The elf woman glanced at her forge in the center of the atrium, then clapped her hands together, her eyes lighting up with a combination of eagerness and determination. "Let us to it, then!"

It is short but hopefully someone will get it. Hopefully. If it makes it any better, it involves Dragons. That is my only hint. ;)

But anyway, fill out the form, with the title of the novel and the author. And next week we shall see if anyone got it correct! Leave some comment down below showing some love. And hopefully I'll put up today's post today. See you all later =D

Tuesday's Novel Spotlight (15)

So this is Tuesday's post and I might do Wednesday's tomorrow since I have to wake up at 6 in the morning for my class. -__- The joy. But anyway! Let's get on with this week's novel.

Witch & Wizard by James Patterson! This one has been on my list since its released date and I hear mixed emotions about this but I'll still give it a shot. So what is it about?

The world is changing: the government has seized control of every aspect of society, and now, kids are disappearing. For 15-year-old Wisty and her older brother Whit, life turns upside down when they are torn from their parents one night and slammed into a secret prison for no reason they can comprehend. The New Order, as it is known, is clearly trying to suppress Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Being a Normal Teenager. But while trapped in this totalitarian nightmare, Wisty and Whit discover they have incredible powers they'd never dreamed of. Can this newly minted witch and wizard master their skills in time to save themselves, their parents-and maybe the world?

So from the synopsis the book sounds awesome and as if I'd love it. But you never know, it may be a total flop. Have you read it? If so what are your thoughts on it. Leave a comment down below! =D

Monday's -Late- Novel Talk (21)

So Monday I wrote the Mailbox post late. And yesterday I fell asleep around 9 and woke up about an hour later thinking it was time to go to school. I was so confused and lost I felt a bit sad for myself. So here I am and I will have to do three posts today! But I shall love it! =D

We start with Monday! What am I reading?

Naked Empire by Terry Goodkind. If I would've read yesterday instead of going back to sleep, (but I was extremely tired and I don't know why. Might have been waking up at 6 in the morning for class.), I would've got really close to finishing the book. I am currently on page 509 out of 725. Yesterday I would've gotten to 609+ and then today I would've ended up finishing it! But it's only Wednesday. If I do yesterday's plan starting today, I'll have it done by Friday!

Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. I finished that yesterday in class and it was one of the worst books I read. Now no one in the class gave me a good chance to explain myself. I started with, "It's the way it's written." And then I got attacked because I "perhaps don't understand because it is too complex for me...this language that was written way back..." Um... no. What I truly meant was the way SHE wrote it. Not the way it's written because of back in the day. I just didn't like the format she wrote it in and I didn't like the characters. My Professor (hi professor) possibly thought I was crazy because I said that this classic was and I quote "horrible". To me it is. Characters were blah, the story was okay, the way it was written was blah. I give it a T for Troll!

The Exiled Queen by Cinda Williams Chima. I have a pile of about 30+ books to read. Whenever I finish a book I pick another up so I can start it and read a couple of books at a time. Well I have to stop that! So what I'll be doing is. This and Naked Empire are currently the only two books I'm reading. So I'll just finish these and then go back to a book at a time whole deal. That way it'll be better for me! But I'm in the same page as I was last week. Nothing changed.

So that's what I'm reading? What are you reading? Leave it in the comments down below!

In My Mailbox/Book Haul (7)

Welcome to another week of the year 2010. One of the very few left until January 2011. Exciting isn't? =D Anyway, since yesterday I got home late, I'll be doing the In My Mailbox post now. In My Mailbox is a weekly post hosted by The Story Siren, where we talk about the books we bought, got at the library or received in the mail. I also add movies since I usually get a couple of movies also. So let's see what I got this week. Or the past week. =D

The A-Team

One of the movies my mom got me this weekend. I still haven't seen this one yet so hopefully I'll get to soon.

Four American soldiers who are in Iraq are sent on a mission to recover plates for printing 100 dollar bills that were used to print a billion dollars. After doing the job and returning to the base their commanding officer is killed in an explosion and the plates are stolen by another operative. They would be court martialed and sent to different prisons. 6 months later, the leader, Hannibal Smith is visited by a CIA spook who tells him he knows where the man who took the plates is and wants him and his men to recover it. So he helps him escape and he breaks out the others and they go after the plates. But after doing it, they discover that the spook might not be okay. And a military intelligence officer who was involved with one of them is pursuing them.

Another one that my mom bought me. I actually saw this one yesterday night and loved it. It's full of Potter stars, and there's this thing at the end that ties into the first one where I was like ZOMFG AWWWW lol xD

Nanny McPhee arrives to help a harried young mother who is trying to run the family farm while her husband is away at war, though she uses her magic to teach the woman's children and their two spoiler cousins five new lessons.

Another one my mom got me this weekend. I wouldn't get this myself since I'm not really a Twilight fan. I do enjoy the movies though but still. I might as well include it.

Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger as Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob -- knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella is confronted with the most important decision of her life.

The last movie my mom got me this week. Still haven't seen this one yet either. This one looks pretty hilarious though lol

Terry Hoitz's past mistakes in the line of duty and Allen Gamble's reluctance to take risks have landed them the roles of the "Other Guy's", disgraced New York City Police detectives relegated to filling out paperwork for cocky hero cops Danson and Highsmith. The mismatched duo must look past their differences when they take on a high-profile investigation of shady capitalist David Ershon and attempt to fill the shoes of notoriously reckless officers they idolize.

This is part of a box set I bought of The Chronicles of Narnia. It consists of 7 books and although I have the bind-up version, I wanted a new one since it was all beat up.

Narnia. . .where the woods are thick and cool, where Talking Beasts are called to life. . .a new world where the adventure begins.

Digory and Polly meet and become friends one cold, wet summer in London. Their lives burst into adventure when Digory's Uncle Andrew, who thinks he is a magician, sends them hurtling to. . .somewhere else. They find their way to Narnia, newborn from the Lion's song, and encounter the evil sorceress Jadis, before they finally return home.

Narnia ... the land beyond the wardrobe door, a secret place frozen in eternal winter ... a magical country waiting to be set free.

Lucy is the first to find the secret of the wardrobe in the professor's mysterious old house. At first her brothers and sister don't believe her when she tells of her visit to the land of Narnia. But soon Edmund, then Peter and Susan step through the wardrobe themselves. In Narnia they find a country buried under the evil enchantment of the White Witch. When they meet the Lion Aslan, they realize they've been called to a great adventure and bravely join the battle to free Narnia from the Witch's sinister spell.

Narnia...where horses talk and hermits like company, where evil men turn into donkeys, where boys go into battle...and where the adventure begins.

During the Golden Age of Narnia, when Peter is High King, a boy names Shasta discovers he is not the son of Arsheesh, the Calormene fisherman, and decides to run far away to the North--to Narnia. When he is mistaken for another runaway, Shasta is led to discover who he really is and even finds his real father.

Saw the movie not so long ago for the 100th time and I still love it! I think it was on T.V. this time and not on DVD hmm... XD

A Prince fights for his crown.

Narnia ... where animals talk ... where trees walk ... where a battle is about to begin.

A Prince denied his rightful throne gathers an army in a desperate attempt to rid his land of a false king. But in the end, it is a battle of honor between two men alone that will decide the fate of an entire world.

So the movie comes out this Friday and I can not wait to see it! Although I might not see it this Friday =( But I shall watch it soon! <3>

Narnia...the world of wicked dragons and magic spells, where the very best is brought out of even the worst people, where anything can happen (and most often does)...and where the adventure begins.

The Dawn Treader is the first ship Narnia has seen in centuries. King Caspian has built it for his voyage to find the seven lords, good men whom his evil uncle Mizaz banished when he usurped the throne. The journey takes Edmund, Lucy, and their cousin Eustace to the Easter Islands, beyond the Silver Sea, toward Aslan's country at the End of the World.

Narnia...where owls are wise, where some of the giants like to snack on humans (and, if carefully cooked, on Marsh-wiggles, too), where a prince is put under an evil spell...and where the adventure begins.

Eustace and Jill escape from the bullies at school through a strange door in the wall, which, for once is unlocked. It leads to the open moor...or does it? Once again Aslan has a task for the children, and Narnia needs them. Through dangers untold and caverns deep and dark, they pursue the quest that brings them face to face with the evil Witch. She must be defeated if Prince Rilian is to be saved.

Narnia. . .where dwarfs are loyal and tough and strong-or are they. . .where you must say goodbye. . .and where the adventure begins again.

The Unicorn says that humans are brought to Narnia when Narnia is stirred and upset. And Narnia is in trouble now: A false Aslan roams the land. Narnia's only hope is that Eustace and Jill, old friends to Narnia, will be able to find the true Aslan and restore peace to the land. Their task is a difficult one because, as the Centaur says, "The stars never lie, but Men and Beasts do." Who is the real Aslan and who is the imposter.

So that is all I got this week. Er...last week. Hopefully I'll get some books this week, or maybe I'll wait and buy more on Christmas! Mwuahahaha! What did you guys get in your mailbox? Have you seen or read any of these movies/books? Leave a comment down below!

A Story About A Hospital...

So you guys might be wondering why I haven't posted anything recently. Well Thursday my mom broke her arm, again, but this time her left instead of right. She broke it in April/May and recovered not so long ago with occasional pain. And now it's the other one. -__- Wow! But yea, Thursday I had to go to the Hospital and stuff and there was this old lady there. And the conversation went something like this;

Lady: Jessie.
Me: >.> -looks subtly around-
Lady: Do you know why I called you Jessie?
Me: <.< Why?
Lady: You look and remind me of my son.
Me: Aww, how cute, thank you. How old is he?
Lady: 28.
Me: Oh.

-silence-

Lady: Susan.
Me: O.o <.<
Lady: She reminds me of my sister Susan.
Me: Who?
Lady: You're mom.
My mom: -in Portuguese- What is she talking about?
Lady: Yea. So she broke her arm?
Me: Yea =(
Lady: I broke my left arm before. And right. Both legs. My neck. I've been broken all over.
Me and my mom: O.O!

And then! She was hooked up to the oxygen tank and this lady took her away and IT WASN'T PLUGGED IN! Before I got to say anything they went into this room. So I figured they're gonna hook her up. She comes back minutes later, and she's dazed out and like foaming at the mouth and not breathing and falling. Then they noticed that the thing wasn't plugged in! She was getting no oxygen and dying in front of everyone.

I was just like Holy Crap!!!!

But yea, I hate hospitals. They're so morbid and no happy at all. At least make me feel comfortable there!

So yea that's my story. But onto book news, I found some books being released next year and got the covers up on the side! =D And I have some reviews to write so I should be getting to that soon. My semester ends like the 19th of this month and starts around the 17th of January. So I'll be reading and writing reviews galore =D

See you later peeps! Thanks for following! Leave comments showing love <3

Guess That Novel (16)

It's Wednesday once again! And I can finally do Guess That Novel! Wooot! I'm so tired though and the TV is on and calling me and the bed seems so comfy... -snores- whoa sorry, knocked out there for a while. =D

Anyway let's see last week's quote! Or the week before. Which ever it was =O

The monster saw my determination in my face, and gnashed his teeth in the impotence of anger. "Shall each man," he cried, "find a wife for his bosom, and each beast have his mate, and I be alone? I had feeling of affection, and they were requited by detestation and scorn. Man! you may hate; but beware! Your hours will pass in dread and misery, and soon the bolt will fall which must ravish from you your happiness forever..."

Well, a few people answered, all correctly, but only one person answered it first!
Andrea from Loud Words & Sounds got it right away by answering; Frankenstein by Mary Shelley. Thank you Andrea for participating and everyone else for answering! You guys are epic! Now for this week's quote, let's choose a novel and a quote.

Make your choice, adventurous Stranger;
Strike the bell and bide the danger,
Or wonder, till it drives you mad,
What would have followed if you had.

YAY! I chose a quote! Now all you have to do is click the link and fill out the form! Just answer by putting your name and the name of the novel. If you're the first one to answer both novel and author, even if someone answered the novel correctly first, you'll still get a shout out =D

So yea fill out the form! Leave comments below! Thank you for following! I'll see you all later! =D
