In My Mailbox/Book Haul (5)

In My Mailbox/Book Haul is a weekly meme hosted by The Story Siren where we show the books we got in the week. Not to show off but to show others and have them do the same to be excited for reading. It's hosted every Sunday as previously done.

This week I got 2 books only but a fair number of dvds. mwuahaha =D So let's start this off!

The Exiled Queen by Cinda Williams Chima
I received this on Monday actually. My mom took me to Barnes and Noble and bought it for me since I wanted it. =D

You can't always run from danger...

Haunted by the loss of his mother and sister, Han Alister journeys south to begin his schooling at Mystwerk House in Oden's Ford. But leaving the Fells doesn't mean danger isn't far behind. Han is haunted every step of the way by the Bayars, a powerful wizarding family set on reclaiming the amulet Han stole from them. And Mystwerk House has dangers of its own. There, Han meets Crow, a mysterious wizard who agrees to tutor Han in the darkest parts of sorcery-but the bargain they make is one Han may regret.

Meanwhile, Princess Raisa ana'Marianna runs from a forced marriage in the Fells, accompanied by her friend Amon and his triple of Cadets. Now, the safest place for Raise is Wein House, the military academy at Oden's Ford. If Raisa can pass as a regular student, Wein House will offer both sanctuary and the education Raisa needs to succeed as the next Gray Wolf queen.

This one is actually my sisters. She found a copy at the train station and bought it and then ordered the rest of the books. So she's letting me borrow them. Although I want to buy them also and they have been on my list of books to read for the longest. But I think I'll wait for the rest of the set of 3's to come out since I like the covers.

Morgan Rowlands never thought she was anything other than a typical sixteen-year-old girl. But when she meets Cal, a captivatingly handsome coven leader, she makes a discovery that turns her whole world upside down: she is a witch, descended from an ancient and powerful line. And so is Cal. Their connection is immediate and unbreakable; Cal teases out Morgan's power, her love, her magick. But Morgan discovers too soon that her powers are strong-almost too powerful to control. And she begins to suspect that Cal-her love, her soul mate-may be keeping secrets from her ... secrets that could destroy them both.

Comet is a super-smart chimp who dreams of blasting off into outer space and visiting Planet Malgor, but no one at Mission Control will take him seriously. Then, when he least expects it, a fantastic accident happens and Comet finds himself rocketing through Space on his own. Meanwhile, Mission Control needs Comet to return to Earth to save the planet from the evil dictator Zartog. If Comet accomplishes this mission, he'll go from being the guy no one believed in...to the ultimate Space Chimp.

Yes, I know that this just came out in theater's this Friday. But I have connection with this one dude and he gets me DVD copies of movies that just came out or will come out and stuff. I'm badass I know. =O

Red is the story of Frank Moses, a former black-ops CIA agent, who is now living a quiet life. That is, until the day a hi-tech assassin shows up intent on killing him. With his identity compromised and the life of the woman he cares for, Sara, endangered, Frank reassembles his old team in a last ditch effort to survive. "Red" is based on the DC Comics graphic novel of the same name by Warren Ellis.

My mom actually got this one. I'm not to keen on watching it though.

The highly skilled Federal Machete is hired by some unsavory types to assassinate a senator. But just as he's about to take the shot, he noticed someone aiming at him and realizes he's been set up. He barely survives the sniper's bullet, and is soon out for revenge on his former employers, with the reluctant assistance of his old friend Cheech Marin, who has become a priest and taken a vow of nonviolence. If you hire him to take out the bad guys, make sure the bad guys aren't you!

I actually kind of started watching this one and it's hilarious!

Jonah Hill and Russell Brand reunite with the director of Forgetting Sarah Marshall in this outrageous comedy about Aaron Green, an aspiring music executive, who has 72 hours to deliver the wild rock legend, Aldous Snow, from London to Los Angeles for a comeback convert. In order to keep his job, Aaron must nagivate a minefield of mayhem and debauchery to get Snow to the world famous Greek Theater on time!

So that's what I get this week. Hopefully next week I'll have more things to show you guys. I'm actually waiting for some books that I got sent for review so YAY! xD
