It Gets Better

The past three weeks, teens in America have been taking their lives. We are currently on the 6th teen, 4th this week. This is the result from bullying they received because they were gay. This has got to be stopped. Whether your straight, gay, bi, trans-gender, or a lesbian, this has to stop now!

Teens from as young as 13 are taking away their precious lives all because people want to be stupid! Why do they do this? Does it give them pleasure to see others suffer? You know what they are? Murderers. They were the ones who caused their deaths.

Listen up. If you or anyone you know is being bullied because of your sexual orientation. Or anything else. Talk to someone. If you don't want to talk to anyone in person there are numbers you can call. But sometimes you might be shy to talk on the phone. Email someone. Whatever it is, do not take your life. It's not worth listening to those people who put you down only because they, themselves, aren't worth it.

Put your chin up, look straight forward, and do you. You are the one who will have a future. You are the one who will be known for their kindness and power. You are the one who will live happy. Don't worry about what anyone else says. I know it's hard but still. Live your life and worry about those who you want to worry about. If anyone talks, turn your head and ignore them.

Just think that once you're away from all of these people who try to put you down, It Gets Better.

To my fellow bloggers, I only ask that you pass this around. Please. You can actually help save innocent lives.

If you are going through this and want to call, 1-800-SUICIDE (784-2433)
If you're thinking of suicide, please, please, please call, 1800-999-9999

If you want to email someone, please, send an email to ItWillGetBetterSoon@yahoo.com

You will be able to call and email in privacy and no one will put your information out. You'll be able to trust someone.

Please, pass this on and support them. They are after all our outside family. And if anything call or send an email. There are people who care and I promise It Gets Better.

Hey,
This was a really nice post and it's nice to see you care about these issues. I myself have some expertise in this area...as you already know lol. But yea the best thing to do is stand up and take the high road, think about your future and don't let people get you down. Like Seuss said:
"Those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind,"
I really hope people's education on this subject becomes better and that we can work to fix this kind of discrimination. Because that's all it really is.

Thanks for caring mike

Totally agree with the HEADS UP comment, with most bullies the way they make themselves feel superior is to belittle someone else. So remember stand tall & remember they can only feel tall by making you feel small

Hi Mike, I passed through your page the other day but did not get a chance to leave a comment. I love this post and glad you wrote. I am also working on an article on bullying but in regards to children with disabilities, my point-it does not just stop with regular, normal kids. I wanted to use your post as a reference and wanted to make sure that is okay with you. So, let me know. Thanks.

Hey Johanna! That's awesome that you want to help out. I really think that this should continue to spread so of course you can use my post as reference. Feel free to =D

I tried clicking on your name for your blog but it wouldn't work on my computer. So I'll check your blog out on my laptop.

Again thank you for spreading this and taking interest on helping others out.

Hi Mike. I am writing a YA about this topic, even as we speak. Hoping to make a difference. Glad you posted this story.

Hey Dana!

Thank you for spreading the word. I'm glad more people are helping out and showing their support. There have been even more suicides but slowly we're helping people out.
