Guess That Novel (12)

Guess That Novel is a weekly meme hosted by me, The Subtle Chronicler, ever Wednesdays. The purpose? To put up a random quote from a random book and try to see who the biggest fans are as they try to guess which novel it is from. Sounds easy. If you're the one posting it.

So how about starting last weeks post and announcing the winner?

The backwash from the naming ceremony persisted for several days. ------ disappeared again, and --- spent fruitless hours searching the woods surrounding Marisa Pines, visiting all familiar haunts. When he did find him two days' walk away in a hunter's shelter on the shores of Ghost Lake, ------ wasn't fishing, or hunting, or reading. Just sitting, staring out at the lake.

Funny thing actually, someone, coughJessicacough, answered it with the wrong book title. Tsk tsk. But the winner who first answered it correctly was. . . -drumroll-

Kelli! from I'd So Rather Be Reading! Congratulations! She answered The Demon King by Cinda Williams Chima. Check out her blog, follow and comment! Do it. Do it now.

Haha, let's step away from crazy dude.

I think it's about the right time to put up this weeks quote.

I was in the gazebo thinking of the photo, thinking of my mother, when ------- got up in the middle of the night and crept across the hall. I watched her as I would a burglar circling a house in a movie. I knew when she turned the knob to my room it would give. I knew she would get in, but what would she do in there? Already my private territory had become a no man's land in the middle of our house. My mother had not touched it.

Just put your answer in here by answering the required questions. If you have a blog put the link on it so I can feature it on the post. If you don't have a blog no worries. But stick around for next week to see who got the answer right! Leave comments on the blog for the hell of it. =D

You're welcome! I can't wait until the end of the week to see if I am right. I am pretty confident that I am. I guess it was something that stuck with me from skimming the book. Yes, I skimmed the book. Quickly. Not sure why, but I just couldn't get wrapped up in the story. I was really really looking forward to the book, and once I started it I found the writing to be a disappointment.(Just my opinion!)I have attempted reading it 4 times now. Maybe, one day I will!
