Between The Pages (1)

Hey Chroniclers! Welcome to another new meme hosted by your truly. Between The Pages is a weekly meme hosted on Saturdays in which I put two shows/movies/books that revolve around the same idea, and pit them against one another. Your job as Chroniclers is to vote at the bottom for which one you prefer so that we can know, once and for all, which is the fan favorite. The post will consist of an image to represent the contenders along with a synopsis to let you guys know what they're about. Let us begin!

Battle Of The Domes!

Gone by Michael Grant
vs
Under the Dome by Stephen King

Gone

In the blink of an eye. Everyone disappears. GONE.

Except for the young. Teens. Middle schoolers. Toddlers. But not one single adult. No teachers, no cops, no doctors, no parents. Just as suddenly, there are no phones, no internet, no television. No way to get help. And no way to figure out what happened.

Hunger threatens. Bullies rule. A sinister creature lurks. Animals are mutating. And the teens themselves are changing, developing new talents-unimaginable, dangerous, deadly powers-that grow stronger by the day.

It's a terrifying new world. Sides are being chosen, a fight is shaping up. Townies against rich kids. Bullies against the weak. Powerful against powerless. And time is running out: On your birthday, you disappear just like everyone else...

Under the Dome

On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester's Mill, Main, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener's hand is severed as "the dome" comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when - or if - it will go away.

Dale Barbara, Iraq vet and now a short-order cook, finds himself teamed with a few intrepid citizens - town newspaper owner Julia Shumway, a physician's assistant at the hospital, a select-woman, and three brave kids. Against them stands Big Jim Rennie, a politician who will stop at nothing - even murder - to hold the reins of power, and his son, who is keeping a horrible secret in a dark pantry. But their main adversary is the Dome itself. Because time isn't just short. It's running out.

Obviously both sound good. I've read Gone but have only seen the tv show for Under the Dome but which do you guys prefer? Vote for your favorite at the bottom and let us see who wins!
