This Or That (5)

Hey Chroniclers! It's Friday and even though I'm already back in the USA, I'm still having these posts scheduled so that I don't forget. Today, though, is time for a new edition of This Or That, a weekly meme hosted by me where I pit two covers from the same novel against each other. They both have the same story, but the image that sells is different. Your job, as Chroniclers, is to vote for your favorite at the end of the post to see which one is the fan favorite. Let us begin!

The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern.

The circus arrives without warning. No announcements precede it. It is simply there, when yesterday it was not. Within the black-and-white striped canvas tents is an utterly unique experience full of breathtaking amazements. It is called Le Cirque des RĂªves, and it is only open at night.

But behind the scenes, a fierce competition is underway-a duel between two young magicians, Celia and Marco, who have been trained since childhood expressly for this purpose by their mercurial instructors. Unbeknownst to them, this is a game in which only one can be left standing, and the circus is but the stage but for a remarkable battle of imagination and will. Despite themselves, however, Celia and Marco tumble headfirst into love-a deep, magical love that makes the lights flicker and the room grow warm whenever they so much as brush hands.

True love or not, the game must play out, and the fates of everyone involves, from the cast of extraordinary circus performers to the patrons, hang in the balance, suspended as precariously as the daring acrobats overhead.

The original cover is pretty cool. It has the hand holding up the mysterious tent and the colors are pretty cool and I think that it captures the story itself. The new cover is also pretty cool. I love the fact that they kept the circus tent still in the picture but then added the silhouettes of the people on either side.

Between the two, I can't decide which of the two I like best. But what do you guys think? Vote for your favorite below and let's see which one is the winner!
