In My Mailbox/Book Haul (1)

So since I didn't post before I'm posting now! This week I got a couple of things in the mail and luckily I'm doing it today because I got new things just now.

Anyway, as I went to the post office, I passed by Blockbuster because I saw this book and had to buy it. It was like $3 so that's pretty cheap. I'm really excited to read this book! =D

Synospis is: Ernie Banks, named for the legendary Chicago Cubs shortstop, is a troubled, thirteen-year-old juvenile delinquent. Abandoned on the doorstep of the Lakeside Home for Boys when he was three years old, his only proof that he once belonged to somebody is a vintage Ernie Banks baseball card, a crystal acorn he wears on a string around his neck, and a strange spiral birthmark on the bottom of his right foot.

As a last reprieve before being sent to a juvenile detention facility, Ernie is allowed to spend three weeks on a working farm. When Ernie arrives at the home of Russ Frazier, he learns that the widower’s baby was kidnapped years before. Ernie is determined to solve the case. He teams up with Joey, a local tomboy, to investigate clues that lead them on a dangerous journey into a forbidden world of dark secrets, magic puddles, and the cavernous underground kingdom of the Puddlejumpers–eleven-inch-tall water creatures with whom Ernie has a mysterious connection.

At the post office, I went to get this book that I won in a contest over at, http://booksandmoviesreviews.blogspot.com/
I would have gotten it Saturday but I was sleeping and I swear that they never ring the doorbell! It happens all the time.

This book to me seems like one of those that you have to lay back and just read in one sitting.

Synopsis is: While digging up a withering wax myrtle tree beside his waterfront home on the Gulf coast, author Andy Andrews unearths a rusted metal container filled with Nazi artifacts and begins an intriguing investigation that unlocks an unspoken past that took place in his backyard . . . literally.

In 1942, as the country gears up for a full-scale commitment to WWII, German subs are dispatched to the Gulf of Mexico to sink U.S. vessels carrying goods and fuel. While taking a late-night walk, Helen Mason-widowed by war-discovers the near-lifeless body of a German sailor. Enraged at the site of Josef Landermann's uniform, Helen is prepared to leave him to die when an unusual phrase, faintly uttered, changes her mind.

Set in a period simmering with anger and suspicion The Heart Menderoffers the very real chronicle of a small town preparing itself for the worst the world has to offer. As cargo from torpedoed ships begins to wash up on the beach, Josef and Helen must reconcile their pasts to create a future.

Now for Spirit, I've been waiting a while to receive it. It was sent for review so I really want to read it of course. It seems different and interesting. Something I've never read before.

Synopsis is: Randall Lender was a Wanted Man. He was wanted by the Clergy of the Major Organized Religions, the Governments and the New World Order, but that was the least of his problems. After going out of body (astral projection) Randall Lender suddenly found himself in such a paradox where the surrealism meets dilemma. Within this phenomenon of Looking Through the Hour Glass he unfortunately after leaving his physical body ended up into another's. This was his paradox. This was his dilemma. This was his surrealism. And regrettably for Lender this was the real quantum problem. Randall Lender found himself on an unexpected journey with its twists and turns until he realizes that he must die to live for his return to his former body. And now the elixir of questions remains: What? How? And Why? Then you'll ask why me? Why him? And What If?

(Synopsis were taken from Barnesandnoble.com and the last one from Amazon.com)

Well, aside from books I also got a shirt from, http://idsoratherbereading.blogspot.com/

It says I'd So Rather Be Reading on it
and cleverly has their link by including blogspot on it =O

I don't have a picture of it right now but I will be taking a picture of it. I'll be wearing it =D

Anyway that's what I got this week. It's not much but it's enough xD
